I'm over it

We have not locked up the division IMO--well it's not my opinion it's a fact actually.

If we lose another game before we play MIA on the 6th, and they win their next 2 against their lousy opponents, they can overtake us at 7-5 with a victory against us. We have a chance to overtake the division in the next 3 weeks with victories against the Jets and Fins, but not before.

Since the New Orleans game will be more than a challenge to us, the game at MIA becomes quite important actually. If we happen to lose to the NYJ or NO, then MIA will be playing an important game at home to overtake the division.

Of course we may be able to overtake it back down the stretch, or they may even lose to CAR on Thursday, but there's still a chance MIA has a lot to play for on Dec.6 against us in primetime.

Carolina will beat Miami, IMO. That team is far better than their record and manhandled a good Atlanta team this past weekend. Without Ronnie Brown in there combined with Carolina's ability to run and control the clock, they'll win, plus Steve Smith on Miami's rookie corners.

Hope you're right, that would help a lot. Don't want the Dec.6th game to be that meaningful for them, it'll have them pumped etc. Would much rather have a deflated Fins team to play, it helps out in obvious reasons.

Looking forward to rooting for CAR on Thursday night.

I still think a first round bye still isn't out of the question.

It's not out of the question, but it'll be hard considering the absolute garbage teams that are on Cincinnati's upcoming schedule. Oakland, Cleveland, Detroit, KC, etc. It'd be a disappointment for them not to get the #2 seed.

Either way, I don't think it's absolutely necessary that the Pats get a bye. 4 of the 9 Super Bowl champions this decade have been teams that played on Wildcard weekend. Also, only one #1 seed has won it all this decade, the '03 Pats. It's all about getting hot come playoff time, which hopefully the Pats can do.

Yeah Cincinnati's schedule is pretty easy coming up, which is what makes this loss sting even more.
