Last night was a bad loss. But I feel if we get Green, Warren, Light, Taylor and Morris back we are that much better than the colts. I mean, our D line was completely gassed at trying to stop a very good colts offense. Having Green and Warren (two starters) back would be huge. Plus we can send Kazcur to the bench and replace him on the right side with Light now that Vollmer has secured a spot on the starting oline. Taylor and Morris back mean Maroney gets fewer carries. I hate to have to play the Colts in INdy but I think we are the better team if we have all our guys back. I know several of the colts players are injured but those guys are gone for the year for the most part.

The problem is, like all teams, we won't "get healthy", we'll have different injuries heading into the playoffs. You are right we should be in better shape than the Colts and I also agree the Patriots will be a viable and dangerous playoff team. But we won't "get healthy", that's done in the offseason.

Setting quibbles about terminology aside, it's hard to argue that the Patriots once again had a lot of players dinged up by the end of the game, including several who would have started the game if they had been less dinged up (e.g., Morris, Warren).

Right but I doubt we'll be healthier in January. These guys will be back, others will be hurt. We're past our bye, we'll likely not get one to start the playoffs. We have few players out for the year - this is healthy, unfortunately.

I just don't understand why we can't seem to put this team away, even the times we've beaten them, they always seem to hang around till the end, no matter how dominating the pats are for the game, no matter how overwhelmed the colts seem they always stick around. Why the hell is that.

I like our chances if we don't choke and mismanage the play-calling and game clock.

How do you like our chances when our D couldn't hold a depleted Colts team with a 17 point lead in the 4th quarter?

Our defensive philosphy sucks when we have the lead late in ball games.

Being the consummate homer, like our chances whether we are "healthy" or not..

The Colts will be heatlhier by then too

Maybe, but remember: they built that D around Bob Sanders and Freeney, and Sanders won't be making a miraculous return for the playoffs.

Only so much, some of their guys are IRed. Hayden is the main guy they'll get back but some are done.

one of my points is that the D line didn't have the depth last night to rotate. they were sucking wind last night and if you don't have depth against the colts you are toast, seriously, derrick burgess starting is a joke. he's a third down pass rusher - that's it. ty warren and jarvis green are pros - they've played the colts before and know what they are doing. pryor and burgess are new to the team and system.

One good thing is that even if we don't get the bye, we would essentially have a 'bye' in week 17 since in all likelihood we'll have the division wrapped up by then. I'm sure BB won't rest everyone but if anybody is dinged up they'll have a week off.

If we win the Jets and Fins games, in general we'll be able to leave more of the banged up players inactive down the stretch. Just have to avoid the season-enders.

right and i don't think hayden will make as much as an impact as green, warren, morris, light and fred taylor (who does very well against indy)

Going on what BB has said in the past about RT and LT needing different types of skills, i doubt very much that light will flip and play RT.

I think Kaczur will stay at RT

that's fine. Vollmer will move to the right side and Light can have is old spot back. Either way we need to get kaczur out of there.

Derrick Burgess applied good pressure all night. Also, Manning wasn't letting our defense rotate late in games when they went to a no-huddle, so even if we had able bodied guys on the bench, Manning was keeping them their.

Lastly, the Colts D was on the field a lot longer than our D yet they didn't look tired and made some plays in the end. How can we use "tired" as an excuse for our D?

well the colts had a bit more depth on the D line last night. I forgot that Tully went down early and so did Ninkovitch who played great. That took a big toll on our D line who already had Warren and Green out. We'll be fine folks. It's just a matter of getting healthier. If that was the best the NFL had to offer last night (the colts) I think we did just fine. They are a good team and either of these teams can win next time.
