I know. its ONLY 1 game. We still will make the playoff....ect.ect
Be honest.... our DEFENSE is not what it what when we won our SB's. We can get to the passer enough and make the stop at the end of the game when its needed.

Romeo still has a few more year left and I don't see him getting another head coaching job anywhere. I would welcome him back.

I don't know how much is

1. Pees influence
2. Belichick's influence
3. Personnel, or
4. Injuries.

Not sure Crennel would have made a huge difference, BB is very involved in the defensive game plan and he is always on the sideline coaching his Defense... suspect that Pees is more of an assistant D coordinator, than an actual D coordinator...

Now that I think about it, Weis is about to be on the street too in about 3 weeks.

Id rather have Weis back in all honesty.

In '03 and '04 playoffs our running game played a huge factor in taking the Colts down. We never had the amount of 3 and outs like last night or in the '06 AFCC. The defense made stops and 2 turnovers, they were just on the field way too long.

I have already posted numerous times before about this. This is my pipe dream. Bring 'em back :D

I want Crennel back THIS season !

It would be a no brainer! He coordinated a Defense that won 3 Super Bowls.

He allowed Bill to not go nuts over the Defense like he has to now... In a heart beat.

If bringing Romeo back meant that BB could spend less time with this D and more time overseeing the playcalling on offense then I'm all for it.

Crennel and Weis will never return. They were not very well

compensated when they were here.

I don't know if I completely agree with that statement. They became hot commodities after the Patriot SB wins, landing immediate jobs (Cheeseburger Charlie landed the job "of his dreams"). That's pretty good compensation right there. Unfortunitely, they are system guys, not good head coaches. I would love to see the two brought back and
reunited with B.B.

Crennel wouldnt have made a difference. We had an outstanding game plan and implied it for 3 quarters. We decided to sit back and play prevent and that allowed the Colts back in the game. I dont think having Crennel would have made any difference with that decision. This defense has a lot of talent and is progressing very well, people are refusing to see that.

Bringum both back
Pees and O'Brien have got to go
Both have been outcoached and outclassed more than once this year.

They are a weakness that cannot be overcome against good teams

Can Romeo rush the passer??

Not to mention as a HC he couldn't get his D working when he didn't have the likes of the roster he had to work with as a DC here.

It's Bill's decision to go prevent, not Pees. If it were Pees overriding Bill's preference he'd have been gone by now... BB is doing what he thinks is the percentage play given his personnel. While it may be the percentage play league wide, it hasn't worked here in ages.

That's bill who's been outcoached. Happened occasionally even when Charlie and RAC were here...

Might they have influenced him to alter his approach...maybe, maybe not. But they would be facing the same present day roster limitations and film analysis and statistical data that this HC has increasingly relies on when making decisions and fashioning game plans. Coordinators may have differing levels of autonomy within the scheme in a BB gameplan. But it's his scheme and he signs off on the game plan approach he's had tremendous input into and he's on the headset all game and often seen making calls and coaching players on adjustments. It's always been that way here.

I don't think RAC or Charlie would turn turtle like the Pats 4th quarter schemes have consistantly done when leading late.
Very passive and lacking any form of imagination.

With all due respect.....BB needs help during the game and these stiffs are not it.

Back at the time they were looking for jobs, Crennel was supposedly the lowest paid coordinator in the NFL and Weis was looking for a coordinator's
job with another team because his pay was so low.

Putting aside getting Crennel back...

It's not just one game.

The Broncos game featured an incredibly soft D vs. a QB that has no arm. The Broncos losing 3 straight is one of the least surprising things to me considering how truly bad Orton is. Why the Pats didn't expose him is beyond me.

The Jets game featured an incredibly soft D vs. a rookie QB that had yet to prove he can throw accurately against man coverage. That the Jets have lost 5 games since the Pats game is one of the least surprising things to me considering their fate was in an untested rookie's hands. Why the Pats didn't expose him is beyond me.

The Pats have lost all three of their road games (London doesn't count) and poor coaching on both sides of the ball was featured prominently. If Crennel is the answer, then so be it, but if he's not then somebody on that coaching staff better start making better calls and soon...the rest of the schedule is very road-heavy.

Regards,
Chris

I don't understand why they're paid so little, the effect they have on the team is huge, why not pay them enough so they're fine with staying? Teams will pay big money to players who will be an upgrade in talent but they don't seem to want to pay really good position coaches and co-ordinators who bring up the level of performance of the players.
