Started drinking at 2 PM.

Got drunk.

Blew off work.

Watched Family Guy on iTunes.

Watched some Simpsons.

Visited Patsfans.com

Actually that one was an anti-coping mechanism.

Got drunk again.

Now it's dinner time.

My plan for later is to get drunk.

Re: Here's how I have coped.

As plans go, that's hard to fault.

Have reached the stage where it's pointless trying to sleep any more so now have to stay awake until tonight. My other half is off work as well today but I suspect she's not going to find me particularly great company.

Re: Here's how I have coped.

If I keep at my plan I should be able to get some decent pass out/sleep. I feel bad for you that have been up all night.

Re: Here's how I have coped.

Might as well just stay drunk right on thru the New Orleans game. Because that'll be the first time we'll get a shot at earning back some respect. God knows we'd better beat the Jets, that's to be highly expected and no real accomplishment. But weve lost alot of respect recently with a loss like this. Beating NO is the nearest win this team can get to earn some of that back. Enjoy your stupor. And be safe.

Who cares about respect. Respect doesn't win ****. Respect didn't win the Rams the Superbowl in '01, nor did it the Pats in '07. What matters is the play on the field. Respect is just something for fans/analysts. Heck, if anything, respect can often be a bad thing. Teams that don't get respect often get over looked. A lot of bad teams have run away with games because a team didn't respect them enough.

Imo, teams that cant run the ball when they need to, PHYSICAL teams that can hold a lead, dont deserve respect. I look forward to the day when we start re-gaining some of that back with the style of play this team used to win titles with.

Re: Here's how I have coped.

I feel like our SB winner weren't so respected either. I just want Wins.

I'm staying safe, thanks. Just hanging out at home.

Re: Here's how I have coped.

I just checked...there are indeed a couple teams that have lost some games in the regular season and still somehow won the Superbowl. I know it doesn't seem possible.

Oh and I have also been drunk since the game ended.

They were respected plenty. And glad to know youre safe.

nope.... still havent coped yet.

They weren't respected like the Niners or Cowboys were, though, because they didn't blow people out. I feel like the Pats were under-respected in the first half of this decade and over-respected in the latter half.

Re: Here's how I have coped.

As game plans go.............. It's a good one. Just don't eff it up by "going sober" on 4th and 2.......... Put your faith in the bottle and tip it back. You have to beleive it will be there for you when you need it.

Re: Here's how I have coped.

I have no idea how to deal with this one. Without a doubt, the toughest loss since the SB. In some ways it's even harder, because Belichick basically admitted that his Defense couldn't stop Peyton.

The Giants loss was a "look back and be miserable but the future is bright loss." This loss is a "what does it say about the future loss?" Is BB telling us we either put up 50 points or don't have a chance against Peyton? I don't know what else I'm supposed to conclude.

Re: Here's how I have coped.

Repeat after me. The regular season means nothing.....The regular season means nothing...

History has prooven this to be true.

I feel your pain, I only managed to sleep about an hour. This loss was almost as bad as the '07 SB ( & I would of won 5 grand had the pats simply won that game! ).

The worst part of this loss is knowing that if we play Indy in the playoffs we will have to play @ Indy again & I have no confidence that we can get a fairly officiated game at their house.

Re: Here's how I have coped.

I couldn't call out of work... so I went to sleep... well tried... I laid away for about an hour, when it usually takes me only a few minutes to fall asleep.

Now, I'm just ready to move on, and see an aggressive, and unruley team @ home vs the Jets.

3 of the last 4 Super Bowl winners have not had a first round bye.

All we may have lost last night was just that. Homefield too, well Indy's a house of horrors but I'll take another shot at them any day, any place.

I find this helps

I'm coping through denial. Works for me.

If I think about it too much, or at all, I get that hideous sick feeling...you all know the one. What I am doing reading here this morning is a big mystery.
