This is the matchup that scares me. And I will be p!ssed if I see Volmer stuck out there on an island trying to block Freeney on his own.

And I have seen Mathis school Kaczur enough in the past as well.

What do the Pats do about Freeney and Mathis?

Block Them.

But, seriously.

Run the ball down their throats to start the game. That stops the Freeney-Mathis combo getting up field. Draws and Screens can shut them down. And there is no-one as good as us at running them plays.

Block.......
That is all :D

We're gonna tire out them out by running the ball. ESPN Countdown predicted Maroney will have a big day today. Block them and run the ball. Not only that we got to mix up the play calling with play actions, draws and screens. When the time is right throw it deep. Their secondary is banged up.

Run the ball down their throats. Throw screens and short slants. Double up on them. Beat them up physically and wear them down by the 4th quarter.

Freeney and Mathis always seemed banged up from big physical teams...I'd love to see his over-pursuit bite him in the ass and give up a bunch of long runs or screens just to keep him honest. He might get to Brady a couple of times tonight..but I bet Volmer is up to the challenge....When he tries that stupid spin move...would love to see Volmer blow it up.

What does any team do against those 2? They are too good to shut out the entire game, just limit their impact i guess

yup
We should have six OL's on almost every play. At least one of the TE's is going to spend a lot of time blocking.

Paging Mr. Baker! Paging Mr. Baker!

I'm looking forward to see how Vollmer handles Freeney. Sea-Bass has looked good in replacing Light so far. For Mathis I think we need to put a TE on that side to help Kaczur.

Run right at Freeney over and over again.

A couple slip screens should be able to slow them down, along with Maroney getting some good runs (as everyone already said)

I think the Pats will start off seeing how well Vollmer and Kaczur block these guys. If trouble ensues then put a TE to help. I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 RBs in their to help as well

Staying out of obvious passing down/distance is the best way to neutralize Freeney and Mathis. Keep them guessing if it's going to be a pass or run play.

what dungy showed in fnia ...pats usually help the LT with freeney. its mathis who has abused kaczur in the past with 1:1 matchups...

A lot of chip and release by faulk. 2 TE sets to help the tackles. And yeah, run it down their throats.

Well, I wonder if the Colts will try to bring pressure up the middle to offset any extra attention the Pats may pay to Freeney & Mathis.

Not having Morris & Taylor really affects our ability to just pound the ball.
