I mentioned this in the thread about the inactives...as he would be the 4th out...leaving 4 more..Not at all surprised by that happening...I think he'll have a week and be ready for the Jets.

Naw. Hold him out longer; until we play a team on grass such as the Fins. Why bring him back too early (like Mayo) and have him play in pain. Let him be fresh for his old team and preserve his gimpy knee on a grass field.

How was Mayo brought back "too early"?

Not surprised.
Maroney HAS been playing well the last few weeks.

I watched him carefully in the London game; he was really slow (especially in the fourth quarter). Almost seemed like he could barely run. He might have been OK in the first half but it seemed pretty clear that he lost his motor by the end.

so let me see if fully understand what you are saying. You were able to determine the Patriots medical staff were incorrect on their diagnosis of Jerod Mayo from your couch?

it was expected, imho.

let's see if he will be back next week against NYJ

Exactly why the Pats will be fine tonight without him. And if we want to pass it off to a RB Kevin Faulk can just come into the game.

Concur, especially against a Colts team that hasn't been stopping a lot of runs lately. The Patriots ought to do just fine tonight.

Looking for some very good Fullback play tonight by Law Firm. 120 yards+ rushing out of the backs tonight is my prediction.

You're on a good streak.. keep playing that hot hand.

For one thing, BJGE had a 100 yard game against them last year if I'm not wrong. I am seeing the I formation coming back.

Agreed, and a two back shotgun set (I don't know what it's called, sorry). While my prediction in the predict the score contest doesn't reflect this, I think the Pats could very well win in a blow-out if the run-game works well enough to keep the D honest.

Who is going to be your third Wide out tonight.

I thought I saw edleman out and now Tate gone, I heard a lot of promise about him.

This is really the one game I was looking forward to Fred Taylor possibly working an opponent over. And with both he AND Morris out, Im kindof doubly bummed about not having our two most physical backs in for a game where they'd be able to potentially dominate, imo. Maroney needs to really step up today. I just continue to doubt that he can consistently do that.

If Edelman is out (I haven't seen the official release yet) it will be Aiken.

Edelman is questionable.

Look for Stanback and Edelman as your dark-horse wide-out threats, but imo Aiken is the #3. It's very good news for us if that doesn't scare you. He and Randy are competing (in fun) for the longest touchdown catch.

Also, Watson and Baker are both competent receivers (TE's) and Faulk out of the backfield is almost flawless. Definitely cover him with an LB. ;)

I am not familiar with him so I went over to NFL.com and looked him up. He has been around for awhile. I was surprised.

What is the confidence level in him? He looks like a big receiver but also appears to have decent speed.

Faulk vs Gary Brackett is a great matchup. I look forward to that.

Watson is a very good TE and I think a little underated. He is capable, not a star but not a slouch. Don't know much about Baker.

Also on the competition for longest touchdown, doesn't Aiken only have 1? I think Dallas beats both of them with his 80 yarder ;)

Started out in Buffalo but has been mostly a special teams player here. He got a few starts earlier in the year when Edelman was hurt and Tate was still on PUP. He did decent. Had one nice long touchdown where he out ran the DB's after catching the ball. He seemed to be relegated to 4th receiver once Tate became active.
