Re: OT: $20,000 fine for Chad O.

By dummy, you are meaning the commisioner, right?

No, Chad is the dummy. He knows the commish as well as we do and unless 20 grand is worth the pitiful attempt at humor then I guess he's real smart.

The No Fun League is at it again.

Re: OT: $20,000 fine for Chad O.

I'm sure Belichick will tell Chad to cut all these stuffs and just play football when he comes to NE.

The Commish ought to leave Chad the h3ll alone. He's entertaining, and I find his antics pretty darned funny.

I'd rather see someone take down the Commish. He's the one doing everything possible to destroy the NFL's product. Frikkin' moron, he is.

Funny post!

And yes, the Commish is an idiot.

Maybe he should just hand the ref the full $20k next time and get it over with in one shot.

I don't know why he has such a bad rep. He's just having some fun. I actually like the guy.

harmless fun turned into a 20 k scr3w job, thnx Roger:ban?:

It's a Travesty!

20 grand for this but nothing for the hit by dakins on welker? what about the spear harrison got away with on monday night? what about when players say they have plans to injure the other qb? seems out of wack to me

I like the idea of the poster who stated chad should have an armored car deliver 2 mill pennies to the Godell's office.

He should have it videotaped and posted to web.

What a hoot that would be.

Always glad to see him fined. He's just an ass who disrespects the game of football every week.

I thought it was pretty darned funny, but also ballsy. I think the fine is justified and I also think Cad is quite lucky. When first saw it I thought Oh Boy this could be big. That the league might run out of control with this.

Let's all just have a good laugh and let it die.

I think getting a fine for a celebration is pathetic.

Let them have their 10 seconds to celebrate. Does it really matter if they get off their feet?

I love Chad and find him great entertainment in the NFL. He doesnt care if he gets fined, he always matches the fine himself and gives it to charity. You see him and Schefter joking about it all the time on twitter.

This is a primary example of why I really don't like Goodell. If it's behavior that the league views as not in compliance with it's policy (spearing, video taping, etc.) and he wants to issue a fine or punishment, ok....My problem is that he is so heavy-handed it's embarassing. I mean, why not fine Ocho $5,000 and not $20,000? Why not fine Belichick $100,000 for Spygate? Why fine Chung for the hit on Henne at all? Isn't the 15 yrd penalty enough?

I kinda side with the league on this one. Every player knows they are not allowed to bring props on the field. Whether you agree with the rule or not, Ochocinco knows the rule and disobeyed it.

Also, Chad treaded on an area that the league takes very seriously - cheating and gambling. Even in a joke, the league doesn't want to give any appearance that the games are fixed in any way.

I knew the second I saw the footage of him doing it. I knew he was going to get a huge fine. He should have known too before he did it.

What I dont get is why fine Chad $20,000 put Harris $7,500 for throwin a punch? hmmm:confused:

Because the appearance of impropriety when it comes to this gambling driven league is a lot more portentially broadly damaging to the product. Harris should and likely would have faced a suspension, but he didn't only because he got thrown out of that game in the first few minutes.

Sadly for some of you, this is why Chad will never land here. He just can't help himself regardless of the situation or the stakes. He did this on a bad team, now he's doing it on a playoff team. If one of his antics results in a flag or a suspension that costs them the division or advancing in the playoffs maybe he and his fan club will finally get that.
