Before someone says it, the Pats will not sign him, no need... They have no interest according to Holly on EEI

I agree with JSn, but, FWIW, it's official now: they've released him.

And, FWIW:

Finally. It was about time. The guy is done. I wonder where he will end up though.

And if Larry Johnson wants to blame someone for his troubles and misfortunes and lack of production, he should blame Herm Edwards and himself.

It wouldn't bother me any if he were added and the deal he agreed too included no guaranteed money.

I would much rather wait for Morris and Taylor to come back rather than have this guy use up a roster spot and displace someone valuable.

Certainly that would be a variable to consider. Frankly, if the cut player was, say Lockett, or that new kid Arrington, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

can we place him on the practive squad so when Maroney gets hurt, we can activated him..

jk.. hehehehe

The Jets are short a back with Washington gone so.....

Re: Chiefs cut Johnson

What exactly did he say to get cut? I've heard references but not the details.

It didn't seem like much of an insult, basically called someone the "f" word. Big deal.

He's about 10 yards away from being the chieftans all time leading rusher and they cut him for something this lame? Good grief.

I doubt it was a knee-jerk reaction. This just tops the cake.

What impresses you more about Johnson? His 2.7 ypc average or his continued trouble with the law? Maybe the fact that he is thoroughly disliked by his team-mates? I know Kraft would love to have a guy embarrass the Patriots brand with slurs. There are just so many facets to this guy.

To answer your question ..... the intrigue is the unknown I suppose. I wonder if a change of scenery and being installed into a different environment, with a different offense, with highly skilled, complementary players, might see LJ rejuvenated into a forceful back again.

As for the off field issues and how this Pats organization would view it, once they welcomed the shady character Dillon into the organization, I have been open minded about how they view off field characters. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if it's all BB's call.
