Sorry to hear it. Torn ACL. Another old friend joins the Saints in Kyle Eckel.

I miss Heath Evans on the Patriots. I was sad to see him go, and it's too bad he got hurt. Hopefully he recovers quickly!

Tough break for a good guy.....

Chatted with him before, definitely a nice guy.

Heath really wanted to stay here but BB decided to forego his FB position. Was glad to see this great guy get a job on the Saints. Best of health going forward!

He was really having a good year - a few touchdowns, on the field quite a bit... too bad it has to end early.

Even if BB hadn't, NO offered too much $.

I was hoping the Pats might sign Eckel. :(

David Givens can relate to Heath's misfortune....It's really weird and creepy how these things happen when you leave the Pats.

Vinatieri,Branch....I could go on

As someone who watches every Saints' game, IMO he was the best fullback in football. They will miss him.

One for old Heath.

I feel for the player and his family. Tough Break indeed.

Plenty of time for him to watch his old college team on TV now. Which could be more painful than the ACL tear.

Go War Eagle!

I'd believe that - saw a few games, seems to be on highlights more than I thought he'd be... To be fair : it is a time in the NFL where the fullback is not quite utilized as much, therefore there is less competition... but still...

Threads like these are the reason I love to read this forum and have for a while now. I know every fan base has "idiot" fans, but the Patriots fans that I've had dealings with have been nothing short of classy folks. They remind me of Saints fans, honestly.

Heath was an important cog in our running game and a great safety valve for Drew, replacing him will not be easy. Hopefully this Eckel kid can come in and at least give us the smart blocking that we expected from Heath.

Heath is just a good guy who deserves better! He'll be back next year though! GEAUX SAINTS!

You guys are fortunate to have a guy like Brees at QB. I wish you success except on two occasions in the next 4 months.
