The Clots are averaging 76 yards a game on the ground, despite playing nothing but cup cakes and the Sisters of the Poor.

Bruschi pimped Joseph Addai. Either Bruschi was talking in generalities and forgetting about the playoffs in 2007 (and a 16-0 season without a 'power running back' for that matter), or Bruschi needs to get a head CT.

"head CT"?................nice touch...........classy............Right up there with 'stroke boy"(jetsinsider.com....fyi).

Let me say that my man Bruschi, even though he was a player, still has a personal viewpoint, one that may not be shared by the coaches and that may not be spot on. Hell, Josh McD liked K O'C at one time. Bru intimates that the Pats need a Dillon/Smith like output from Maroney. I disagree. Most objective Maroney fans here readily concede that Maroney is not that style of runner, not your basic power back. He is what he is. Me, I'm glad we have him and will agree with Tedy on the part that yes the Pats DO need Maroney to step up for the playoff positioning to be a success. The same could be said for 20-30 other team members.

In summary. I LOVE reading Tedy's comments. They're not 'revealed truths', but as an informed ex-player's view they should provoke thoughtful consideration and reasoned rebuttal.

Reiss had a chat today where he discussed Springs. He said that Springs had some technique issues against Denver and hasn't seen much time since.

Interesting. Lots of nuggets in these reports.

Perhaps some vets get SO intrenched in their own techniques and styles of play, successful with stuff that has gotten them years of big NFL paychecks, that they're not exactly flexible to coaching driven alternatives. Restricting PT is about all a coach can do outside of severaing the relationship entirely.

Its been brought up before by I swear that there are some posters who may be ex-players, writers (Bill Simmons for one) and radio/tv guys who enjoy getting the pulse of the fans.

Did not Ian once say something along the lines of, "You'd be surprised who's here"?

Sure, and I've got no problem with Bruschi if he wants to call out any player. I sure as hell don't think that Maroney is blameless and perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I just have a problem when you cite to Joesph Addai when you're talking about a "power running back". Aside from Addai's diminishing returns of 4.8, 4.1, 3.5, 3.3 YPC, the notion that Addai's a power back is something Tedy surely knows to be wrong.

So, is it that you've never heard the phrase "needs his head examined", or that you found my treating Bruschi like I would any healthy person to be insensitive even though his stroke is years in the past?

Exactly where I was going.

Though maybe not for Tedy. As a player, he was busy being a player. I would not be exactly shocked if he simply did not know those #s. Being an ex-player does not make you automatically aware of stats, etc. Commentator or not.

You ever play sports before?

What does that have to do with the topic at hand. Nothing. I have played football plenty of times. I didnt play for a high school team though.

I have seen from watching sports for 15 years that when teams get "bored" or "lazy" it effects their play in big games down the line.

If you get bored during any NFL game you shouldnt be playing football. You dont need to play for sport to realize that.

Don't even try to backpedal. That was intentional and I called you on it.Learn your lesson and move on.

I'm not backtracking, because I have no need to. If Bruschi wants to point to Joseph Addai as the way to go, he needs to get that head CT. Would you prefer I went with a head MRI instead?

They won the last two games 94-7, it was pretty much impossible not to be bored by before halftime of this last game.

I disagree with Bru on this too. Addai is not and never was a power-back. Physically, he very well may be on the back 9. Thus the reason Polian drafted Donald Brown.

Yes the Pats took care of buisness. They whipped teams they were suppose to whip. I give credit to them.

I just dont see how a player can get bored in a game and it lead to effecting your job by getting penalties. Im just the type of guy who wants to see his team fight hard from start to finish no matter what the score is. It comes down to heart.

Im not knocking your team. The Patriots probably are a top 5 team in the NFL right now. I just never like to hear things like this when these guys are getting paid alot of money to play a sport.

The game might be out of hand but these "players" still have a job to do. One lazy play can lead to your QB getting killed. I find it odd that a team that lost maybe the best QB in the game last season to injury would be bored. Thats all.

He used a common phrase. Don't witchhunt for PC "scandals".

I did notice that when Tom through that INT in the end zone against the Bucs he was not as irate as he usually is when he makes a bad mistake....

I think you and I may have see two different Tom Bradys after that play. I saw him visibly upset with it on the replay.
Have to agree with PATRIOTSFANINPA on this. Tom Brady was definitely not as irate as usual. He didn't yell, didn't go back to the bench storming, and didn't throw his water bottle into the ground. Of course he didn't like it, but if you saw earlier games, you would see an irate Tom Brady post-inteception. Not this time.

When they talk about ROTY neither mentions Miles Austin...that kid is a beast as a rookie WR and probably has done more to help the Cowboys win the past 2 games than Williams or Crayton

Is he a rookie?
