Well ... the Celtics season has a arrived ... they begin tomorrow vs the Cavaliers. Anyone wish to make any predictions?

My guess is they go 58 - 24 a few less than last year. I think they are a better team than last year but I think injuries will be a problem this year. Not major injuries but nagging type injuries.

I hope Doc really spreads the minutes around. One negative I have is how tired Paul Pierce looked come seasons end. He was so exhausted he wasn't even driving the lane looking for contact like he always has. I think Daniels will see major minutes as the season rolls along.

Other than commenting on the obvious I'd like to comment on 2 players ... Kendrick Perkins and Lester Hudson. I think Perkins is going to have a great season because I think he will be the healthiest he has been in a few years. I love his maturity his passion for owning the paint. It will be fun to see if Doc goes with Perk, Garnett, and Wallace at times ... just for kicks.

Also ... by seasons end fans are going to love Lester Hudson ... this kid is going to be a decent NBA player. He'll be buried on the bench for a while but what he has going for him is that he is 25 so he is very physically and mentally mature. If Daniels plays a lot of 3 Hudson could earn a good 5-7 minutes after mid season.

60+ wins and a title if everyone stays healthy.

Ehh, it depends on what Shaq shows up in Cleveland. If it's the Shaq that's hungry for another title, Cleveland is taking the East this year. If it's the Shaq that just wants to lumber up and down the court and collect a paycheck, the Celtics have the East (and possibly the NBA title) waiting for them. It's definitely coming down to those two.

As for the West, don't see anybody else contending for that besides the Lakers. I don't think the Nuggets are going to do it either (although I actually like Chauncy Billups now that he's with them).

big baby is already hurt. he got in some fight and broke a finger i believe. not off to a good start.

Eh, not that big of a loss right now. Wallace was going to cut into his minute this season anyway. He will be a nice player off the bench when he heals up though.

I agree with this plus I don't think it really matters if everyone is healthy but Garnett and Pierce are the two that are the key. If either of those two goes down it will be like last year if they stay healthy I think it's banner 18.

i hope your right . baby did a excellent job last year. sometimes injuries snowball and this will really stunt babies growth as a player. plus the green needs as many young guys making contributions as possible. i just don't like a injury right off the bat before they even play a freakin game. and who knows how kg will be. he looks great so far but you never know with a guy his age coming back from a significant injury. fingers crossed.

62 - 47 Celtics a few minutes into the 3rd quarter. Celtics defense already looks tight and we're not getting stuck when forced into our 1/2 court offense. Paul Pierce is operating with a bit of room out there which is nice to see. Shaq is getting the ball in the paint and kicking it out - Doc will fix that.;)

Celts win and look good doing it. This is going to be a fun season.

Wow Sheed is definitely the "X" factor.....If he can play at a high level all season this will be a great season.....It was also refreshing to see Allen knocking down open shots early in the season because if he is hitting from the outside early on it is going to be a long season for opposing defenses....

there is only one shaq that can show up anymore, the slow overweight one that can't shoot free throughs and kills his team in transition basketball

Yep. Judging by last night, it looks as if that's the Shaq that Cleveland got. They'll improve, of course, but I'm saying that an injury-free Celtics team is the class of the Eastern conference.

Agreed 100%.

As long as the Celtics stay healthy we will be in the Finals vs the Lakers.

Last night the Celtics started off slow but we found our groove and pretty much controlled the game from the 2nd quarter out.

Shaq thought he would be ready for the game ... he had practiced all the plays on his Nintendo.

Greg ****erson needs to lay off the McDonalds and Burger King.

Celtics ... 92

Bobcats ... 59

Well okay then ... don't get bored guys.

Little Wallace (Gerald) did not look to bad. 10 pts and 12 rebounds for the kid.

Yeah they definitely destroyed a team that they should but how about cleveland losing to Toronto? It wasn't the fact that they lost but how bad they looked doing it.....They need to get things figured out with shaq in the lineup because they actually played better when he was on the bench......
