Just a quick list of needed help in 2010 that may be available:
WR
Steve Breaston
Lee Evans
Vincent Jackson (Only 26, 6'5" 230 19.2 YPC)
Antonio Bryant

ILB
Barrett Rudd (only 26)
Kirk Morrison (only 28)
DeMeco Ryans (only 25)

OLB
Aaron Kampman
Chris Gocong (only 25 and 263 lbs)
Elvis Dumervil

DL
Will Smith
Kyle Van Den Bosch

O.K. This will stir some feelings. How about RB Lendale White?

Is it too early to guess and see what can be with three picks in the first two rounds plus a couple of these if they are not resigned? Can you see a better 2010 team personnel wise?

I would be shocked if Dumervil isn't wrapped up. In fact, I think Denver might offer him an extension before the season is even over (unless he sustains a serious injury).

Half of the players you mentioned will be restricted free agents unless there's a new CBA in the next four months.

Don't we have 4 pics in the first two rounds?
(1) first round - Our own pick
(3) second round -Our own pick, Jacksonville's, Tennessee's

Not trying to nit pic, just saying...

There is one MAJOR problem with this thinking. Since 2010 will be uncapped, there are very restrictive rules on what the top 4 and top 8 teams can do in terms of signing. They are allowed to sign only street free agents OR a free agent to the equivalent pay scale as a player they lose.

Also, any of those guys who have less than 6 vested years, will be considered restricted free agents, not unrestricted. And you can bet your bottom dollar that they will ALL get RFA tenders since there won't be a salary cap.

My bad. You are correct.

Its also looking like the Tennessee pick will be top 5 in round 2 and the Jax pick will be top 13, unless one of them makes a miraculous turnaround.

What about LenDale White?

Sammy Morris & Fred Taylor are good, but they are getting old.

LenDale is a power back and we sure could use a power running back
inside the 10 yard line & in short yardage situations.
.
Maroney couldn't breakthrough a warm stick of butter.

I'd like to see Lendale don the red and blue for us. I'd almost rather see him gain some weight again so he can just absolutely pound the rock.

I know- and if we ever had a draft anything like the last one in terms of success rate (at least so far) :D :D :D
Then on top of that, two first rounders and a second the next year!

WR shouldn't be an issue because we will get Julio Jones :singing::singing::singing::singing::singing:

LenDale White will be a restricted free agent and will receive a tender from the Titans. He's not worth a 1st round pick. He's got serious attitude problems....

Remember, there was a reason the Titans drafted Chris Henry and Chris Johnson in back to back drafts after spending a 2nd on White.

As for what Maroney can do, I guess you don't watch much Patriots football.

Id rather try to pry Steven Jackson away from the Rams

Breaston i dont think is that good of a WR and i think will want more money then hs is wort because of he's one 1000 yerd season

Vincent Jackson is going to have a crazy year and if he hit's the open market will want more then we can pay him

Lee Evans same thing to much money to pay for a #3

i think Julian Edelman will be the full time #3 next year and Brandon Tate #4

next year TE is whear they will need help watson is a FA and if they dont bring him back they need to draft or sign one

DeMeco Ryans

Barrett Rudd

Kirk Morrison

all on pace for over 120 tackel's they would all wamt to much money and i think they can get by with guyton as the #2 ILB next to mayo

OLB is where they need help

Aaron Kampman is playing OLB for the packers right now but he is not happy there he is a top passrusher as a 4-3 DE not as a 3-4 OLB so if the pats play the 4-3 full time next year then they should look at him

Elvis Dumervil i dont think will hit the open market and demarcus ware sit the mark for top OLB at 11 million a year so he will never be a pat

Chris Gocong has good size but only has 5 sack's in he's 4 year Career playing on a good pass rushing team he is some one the pat's will look at for dept but he is not the passrusher they need

they need to draft a few guy's at OLB

Will Smith and Kyle Vanden Bosch again if they are not going to play the 4-3 full time there is no reason to pay them that much money for dept when they mix the 4-3 in

Lendale White i dont think is that good of a RB i would like to see them draft a RB

the fact is the pats will have to get it done in the draft

#1 if there is no CAP next year half of dose player's will not be FA

#2 if there is a CAP next year they will not have the money to go after any big time FA half of the OL are FA next year for the pats and brady is a FA in like 2 year's

so they will have to get it done in the draft or hope they hit on some more mike vrabel type guy's cant make it with one team but is a star with the pats

You goto be kidding me !

Since being a Patriots, you can count the tackles Maroney has broken
on one hand. I have never seen a running back tackled so often by the
first defender to make contact.

He is decent in the open field, but in short yardage he is a disaster.
He has failed on far to many 3rd & 1's as a Patriot.

The boy, just does not like contact !

He should try... Dancing with the Stars !

At receiver, Tate (assuming he blossoms) and Edelman make the market a bit more rifleshot. If they decide that Tate is the answer at flanker, I doubt there will be a push for a FA receiver. If they decide that Tate is going to be the heir to the split end position, they may take a look at Bryant as their x. He would be an outstanding fit there. No need to go after a slot guy when you have the best in the NFL and a highly capable one on the roster.

At ILB, I really like Morrison. I think that out of that group, he is likely the best fit. Mayo and Morrison at will and mike respectively out of the base 34 with Guyton subbing in situationally is a stellar unit. Likely best the team has had in the Belichick era. Ruud is an outstanding player, but more of a cover-2 mike than anything. Ryans is a good player, tackling machine, but more like Guyton than a true 34 mike.

At OLB, Dumervil is making himself $1 million guranteed with each sack. Been high on the dude for quite a bit, and was pissed when we didn't take him out of Louisville. Kampman seems a bit too rigid and lacks the explosion out of the two point. The goal is to increase team speed. He wouldn't do it. Gocong is interesting, but unlikely.

I don't see the team making any DL moves until the 1st round of the draft. Unless they commit to the 43, neither of those players would be viable.

Maroney is more an outisde runner...NOT at all a short yard inside one..I think many knew that years ago when he was drafted..Morris/Taylor even Green-Ellis are more the inside power backs..People pushing him into that role never understand that...and then wonder why he's not good at it.. Why don't you complain about Brady's scrambling ability? OR lack of it..same thing..but too blind to see it..

and also LB Tyrone McKenzie from last years draft will be back from injury.

i think Julian Edelman will be the full time #3 next year and Brandon Tate #4

It wouldn't surprise me if Brandon Tate emerges to the number 3 spot with Julian at the 4. I just feel his game is too similar to Wes as a slot receiver. I also think Tate will become a stud who can stretch the field and open things up underneath.
