There has been a load of guys on here saying these two have to go, I don't see them starting any threads lately so I thought I'd start one for them.

Maroney in 29 attempts has only rushed for 166 yards in his last two games and 2 touchdowns for a horrific 5.5 yards per carry.

And Pees defence has given up one score in those two games also.

Its just not good enough, now who's with me? :D

I almost had to swoop in and come down on you for this one. After reading it you're off the hook - although I'm not encouraging anyone to start any of these since most will ignore it.

I agree with Maroney, although he appeared to be in the doghouse after he struggled early on, which allowed BJGE to get some playing time. I was pleased with his ability to move the pile a couple of times yesterday, so I'm hopeful he'll improve. However, I still feel that if he can't become an every down back that he's great in the open field and catches the ball well out of the backfield and has a role on this team. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

As for Pees, I think considering the young group of players he's had to work with, along with the injury to Mayo early in the year which definitely hampered what they were trying to do - he's done pretty well. As I wrote they lost two games by 3 & 7 points, and have one of the lowest points per game averages in the league. All in all a pretty good performance from a team that is more or less "rebuilding" on that side of the football.

Re: Maroney, Pees have to go

You cannot be serious about McPhony. 1 yard and a cloud of flatulence.

His 5.5 YAC is skewed by the snow game. On grass he goes backwards. If NE played at the North Pole LKM would break the NFL rushing record and be the best known dancer of all time.

Ian, you need to bring rep back, just don't make it anonymous.

I would love to see the same style of play when we go on the road for the next two trips out of town to where the big boys play.

Re: Maroney, Pees have to go

Oh, and BTW, Pees has moved up to the press box. Obviously, there he feels more comfortable running the D from up there. I guess in the eyes of BB at least, a change had to be made, albeit a small one to the get the D back on track.

As far as Maroney goes...well, they need him now due to all the injuries. They still have him for one more year and I guaranty you they won't resign him.

Eagle Eye, you need glasses. Maybe the Coke bottle kind.

I don't think he was ever in the dog house. Made some nice blocks too. They seemed to be switching it up by quarters for a time. Until they realized this week BJGE was averaging the dreaded .9ypc...;)

Re: (Title Change) Still Think Maroney, Pees have to go?

BJGE is averaging 5.2ypc during the two game span. I thought Maroney and BJGE played pretty bad yesterday IMO. The stats from the Titans are skewing the runningame alot.

The OL had a tough day getting Brady knocked around a bit early and racking up 7 of the 10 team penalties. Tampa decided to take away what it could, and that was the running game. We didn't push the point since the passing game had the game well in hand.

Quick question: Why isn't it Danny Downer since these comments inevitably come from the males on the board?

Re: (Title Change) Still Think Maroney, Pees have to go?

Maroney has been improving but I think I can say he has the BIGGEST ego on our whole team.

He thinks he is teh friggin **** because he got a 3.3ypc against the Bucs and then scores a one yard touchdown and always has to do overthetop celebrating.

Re: Maroney, Pees have to go

I like the post... nothing goes with come-uppance like a healthy dose of sarcasm.

However, before we put Pees and Maroney in Canton, we should probably consider that the last two games were played against two of the worst doormats in the NFL this season.

They (TEN & TB) have 0 wins between them (out of 13 games) and have the largest negative net points in the NFL (-114 & -107) except for Rams and the Raiders. Congrats to CLE for being so crappy that they tied TB for net points at -107 and still managing to accidentally win once. See, even a blind squirrel (or backstabbing manJudas) can find a nut (or 30 silver pieces) every once in a while.

I just hope that the Patriots gained confidence out of this that will help them when they are playing real teams following their 3 week bye.

Where is this coming from? Quotes? Articles? TV interview?

Saying Maroney $ucks is one thing. Saying that he has a huge ego is something I have not heard before.

Am I missing something?

I thought we had all agreed that Pees should be fired if the defense allows anything more than a half a point per game.

He shook a fan's hand in the crowd. Obviously shaking a 10 year old boy's hand is a sign of hugely inflated ego.
