Report: Leon Washington to miss season

Washington
Leon Washington will miss the season with a broken fibula, according to Mike Florio of profootballtalk.
Washington will undergo surgery in Oakland because the bone broke through his skin, raising fears for infection. It's a crushing loss for Washington, who has turned down competitive contract extension offers from the Jets. Broken bones usually don't mean long-term damage, though, and Washington is expected to recover in 12 weeks. Shonn Green will get more snaps and should be picked up in all available leagues. You are the reason sports fans of opposing teams hate each other. A season-ending injury is no reason for a cute little smiley face next to the thread title. Shame on you.

That's a bad break for the Jets.

it's new.

just in 30 minutes ago. Ppl were like that w/ Brady...

I do not care about any other team's feelings or well being but my own team(s)

A smiley face for a broken leg? I've seen enough vacuous posts from HarkDawg, but this takes the cake. Washington is a good player.

but we can agree it was a cute smiley face? Right?? :)

It's not about hurting other teams' or fans' feelings. It's about having the brainpower not to work yourself up into shameless glee over an injury suffered by a damn professional athlete.

agreed

I came here to post the exact same thing

tought loss for the jets

I'd have to agree with Crypto here, never wanna see injuries. At the end of the day, it's only a game.

But it's not that big of a deal either, I'd bet over at JI they'd do the same exact thing. I always like to consider the NEP a class organization though, from the front office all the way down to the fan base.

That said, we should only be happy in private;)

OP, you're a pitiful scumbag. Cheering a players injury? You give Patriots fans a bad name and are no better than that piece of sh!t who made the "Bernard Pollard Fan Club" t-shirt. Go to hell.

Injuries suck regardless of who gets them, or what team they play for. You never want to be happy that a tremendous player got hurt. It's against the competitive nature of the game to look for a team to loose a key player. I'd want to play a team as tough as the opponent can field.

I agree, only a dirtbag would cheer for an injury.

Broken bones heal, it's not a big deal. Why do you guys root against Mangini, him getting fired after this season will be more debilitating to his career than Washington's broken bone will be. Washington will be 100% by next year, if Mangini is fired he is done forever, most likely, as a HC. Go root for Mangini too.

everybody against the PATS was feeling great when Brady went down.

I am the bad guy?

for being like them?

What he said.

Tough loss for the Jets, frigging great news for us.

You mean like the Pitt "fan" who created the "I love Bernard Pollard" T-shirts last year? When Brady went down last year the unabashed joy of fans as displayed on message boards from opposing teams was more than palpable. I used to feel badly about this sort of stuff, but not any more. I don't like to see it happen, but I also don't lament it.
