Guys/Gals, we are going into a bye week.

What is your assessment of Tom so far this year? Do you think he'll return to form b4 the end of the year (or, shudder, ever)?

He has missed on a bunch of plays so far this year. Is jumping around much more than normal int he pocket this year.

No the sky ain't falling and understood it takes time. Just interested in hearing your take...seems to me we are missing Josh a bit more than some would like to admit.

?

he's good not great

He can make most of his throws but the ones that require the greatest amount of timing and skill still aren't totally there.

I'm not worried though.

Well, he's starting to round more and more into Tom F'ing Brady form this year but if he plays like he did today against a quality team...well, we'd still likely win but it wouldn't be as handily!

Not worried but obviously was wishing for a faster physical/mental recovery.

LOL

This should be a truly enlightening thread.

The funny thing is Brady only being "good" still makes him better than like 30 other NFL QBs.

Well, right now he's equal to a few QBs right now... and it's not a bad list.

How would you rate 'good' Tom Brady vs. 'tip-top' Drew Brees?

He's trying to force things that aren't there, thats his one problem right now. Like I posted a few weeks back I don't think we'll see Brady back to his best till next season. He lost a year, he'll need that back as a platform to build off. You need time, trust in your body and from the people around you and If you have that then it's just down to playing and getting back into routine. Physically I think he looks great, he's moving well and I don't think it surprises anyone he's more active in the pocket, he'll be extra alert in there still for obvious reasons but I think eventualy he will return to that ultra relaxed state he's known for.

He's done and he's never going to be the same after the surgery. We should have kept Cassel. Or Bledsoe.

Tip Top has thrown 3 ints today and has 6 minutes left....

I thought he looked pretty good today. One ugly deep pass, a couple pretty good ones. He's still not 100%, but with the exception of the Broncos game, he's been steadily improving for weeks. I'm feeling very optimistic about Brady- now I just hope we can continue to perform pretty well against better teams.

Go and look up Peyton Manning's stats for his first seven games in 08, while returning from minor knee surgery. They are worse than 09 Brady's all across the board, and Brady is returning from an ACL and MCL tear. I really don't understand the chicken littles in this board. Projecting Brady's stats for a whole season you'd get 32 TDs, 9 INTs and 4400 yards, with a 100.0 passer rating. That'd be the second best season in his carreer, far and away better than Manning's MVP winning performance last season.

He is missing some throws, indeed, but he's improving steadily in this aspect every week. Give him time and some credit, I think the guy deserves it.

Go look up Manning's stats thru the first 6 games of his 2009 season or Brees stats for his first 7 games...

Honestly, you'd think Tommy wasn't on pace for 32/9/4400 which is about what the other two are on pace for...without recovering from a year on the sidelines recovering from an ACL... They all miss throws, he always missed some too, I don't know which alternate league these critics are watching every week...

Brady: 15 TD, 4 INT
Brees: 14 TD, 5 INT
Manning: 15 TD, 4 INT

That's ****ing smoking. It's also as good as if not better than his top competitors.

Oh, wait, Brady misses some long bombs here and there, which need to be pinpoint for completions, coming off an often devastating injury. Gosh, he sucks.

I thought other than a few plays, Brady was fine today. Especially with Moss clearly not 100% for a large portion of this game and not much of a running game.

People expect Brady to complete 90% of his passes and 4 TDs with no INTs every game. The guy completed 71.9% of his passes today for 308 yards, 3 TDs, and 2 INTs (and he sat out most of the fourth quarter). Many QBs would kill for those stats. Even when healthy prior to 2007, there was a time where Brady would kill for those stats.

And let's not forget he is on pace for 32 TDs vs. 9 INTs for 4,400 yards with him playing like crap for most of the first month.

I've seen the little bugger throw 4 picks in a game, forget about through 7 of 'em...when he was perfectly healthy. He's back, this is who he is. And like Bill said today in his postgame, wouldn't want anyone else for a lot of reasons...

Beginning to wonder if Moss' mystery illness is a factor...
