A little surprised this hasn't been posted already, to the point that I worry that it has and I'm being a huge lame-ass by doing so here. In any case, here's the scoop. Can't wait to see the kid play. (I hope.)

IMO he's a JAG tackle ... but every team needs those guys.

For an o-lineman, that's a compliment. ;) LeVoir played in every game last season, including 2 starts.

I'm really excited to see Tate play. He was considered just as good if not better than Nicks before his injury, and his personal problems really hurt his draft staus.

Well, it was already posted in two other threads about who was going to be activated.

LaVoir, who was signed off the Rams Practice Squad, beat out Britt and O'Callaghan for the job as swing tackle and primary back-up. He's more than a JAG as ICY said. In fact, LaVoir more than held his own last year when he played, filling in at different times at LT and at RT. Both his starts were at LT in place of Light.

With Light, Vollmer, LaVoir, and Kaczur, the Pats are pretty set at OT. Something that hasn't been the case at any point in time prior to this year.

Or this year yet, either. :( (Get well, Matt!)

Now that there are 10 OLmen on the 53, OBurger should be IRed and Eminem should be re-signed as the 3rd TE; or another RB - pref. a FB - should be signed; or an experienced, professional WR.

And while he's at it, Bill should waive either Lockett or Slater. We are too thin at other positions to allow this luxury to continue.

What luxury? Last year the Pats had at least FIVE players—other than Gostkowski, Hanson, and Paxton—who played the majority of their snaps on STs.

Name the experienced professional WR,who is a Free Agent, that they should sign.......waiting.....

BTW,to cut Slater ot Lockett for a FB or another RB is ludicrous......still waiting for that name????

Slater should not be cut. This guy has pretty big value on STs, imo.

Lockett seems like a nice story, but he's probably #53 (course, I thought that before Galloway and Matthews were cut).

Stoked about LeVoir being back. Better than solid tackle and the depth at OT is probably one of the most overlooked spots on this team (not that OL generally gets much attention anyway).

Of course, pretty much everyone outside NE fans who thinks the Pats need an OL think they need a tackle. . . .

I dunno. I read a lot of kooky posts here about moving Kaczur to guard, Light to RT and all sorts of nutty stuff. Maybe fans don't know a ton either...

I have no idea who he thinks is sitting out there to make a difference. We've got what we've got, I don't think Edelman will be out too long and Tate is replacing Galloway. We'll have issues if Moss gets hurt but that would be the same if we signed Joe Schmoe "experienced professional WR" who's sitting at home right now.

Mark Levoir was an All-American tight end in high school. I wonder if Pats are grooming him for back-up tight end now that they have cut Michael Mathews.

One thing that has to be said is that Tate must have impressed the coaches a lot for him to make the roster, considering he's not played a down due to his knee injury.

A lot of it has to do with how far he dropped in the draft. If circumstances were right (e.g, he didn't tear his knee/finished his senior year) he would have definitely gone in the first round to top 1/3 second round.

Tate is an interesting prospect, if as advertised he is very welcome... in addition to taking some of the stress off of the kick and punt returners...

Maybe seen too many WR's come and go, but hopefully he is the real deal.

Y'know I read that somewhere too and I was thinking the exact same thing...Who knows.

Lockett is history.

Hope the Pats enjoy some of London. It is an absolutely fantastic city!!
