Finally the machinations become clear.

BB cleared space by cutting a WR for a WR I liked in preseason - Terrence Nunn.

That's pretty straightforward. The second roster spot is a little complicated, but is blindingly apparent once you see it: Since BB hasn't used Edelman in the Wildcat, he is obviously going to turn to Robbie Agnone, who took reps in practice as a QB his freshman year at Pitt. Who's the coach at Pitt? Dave Wannstedt. Formerly of the Dolphins Wannstedt, the same Dolphins who just happened to have unleashed the Wildcat on the NFL. Simple once you see it.

Need further proof? TE Matthews was released to make room for Robbie "Wildcat" Agnone, and is it a coincidence that Agnone is also a decent TE?

I think not.

My respect for the evil genius mind of BB just went up a notch.

What makes you so sure the Patriots want to run the wildcat? Frankly i'd be unhappy to have anybody other than Brady at QB. The Dolphins use the wildcat so much because they are not confident with their QB's. Its a desperation move.

maybe im way wrong here, but dave wanstandt's only relation to the current Dolphins coaching staff is that he was the Head Coach of that franchise 10 years earlier. so, in short, what the heck are you talking about

I dig the Nunn idea, though I was curious about Tate. But Nunn showed some real flashes in PS and he alluded to the extra spots being available to PS players too.

I wonder if Tate AND Nunn can end up on the squad this year? Does LeVoir reduce the need for one of the other backup Olinemen?

Finally the machinations become clear.

Agnone is a former standout basketball player ... I think Belichick is intrigued with the challenge. The kid has great hands and is a hard worker ... needs experience. Not the fastest guy with a reported 4.78 40 time ... who knows?

What? That's a requirement now? Since when?

But obviously you are unskilled in conspiracy theory. Logic and chronology are irrelevant. Connections are all that are needed. And I built a connection between the Wildcat and Wannstedt. As soon as I connect Wannstedt with Denver, I can tie in the Wild Horse formation, and my conspiracy will be complete. I call the new play the Wanny Whinny.

Interesting proposition but I think we'll be putting LeVoir and Tate on the roster because of what happened to Light (we are thin at OT now).

And if there is any truth to the rumor about Edelman breaking his arm, then we'll need a PR in addition to WR, and Tate is both.

I am a big fan of Nunn and like his hands, speed and intangibles- just don't see anything happening anytime soon, for him.

Eh, don't put too much into the 40. Anquan Boldin didn't have the fastest 40 time and look at him. All that matters is the amount of work he's willing to put in to get some field time. If he's willing to work hard at it, it could pay off.
