Just what IS Mariano Rivera doing in this video?

I shouldn't go here - as I am ambivalent to the Red Sox, Yankees and other baseball teams - but . . . given the information the past 12 months about Manny and Ortiz, I would think Red Sox fans would just move along whatever the outcome of this is.

And then there's Giambi and Pettitte and Clemens.

Anyhow, rotoworld is confirming that MLB is investigating this issue. So they're not "moving along."

You can add in A-rod and Sheffield also, if there is one team who doesn't have the ground to stand on when it comes to steroid abuse it's the New York Yankees!

No they don't, but niether do the Sox. Manny and Ortiz to name two. How important were they to the WS titles the Sox won? The point about roids is that the entire league, generally speaking, was doing them. No particular franchise has a beef really, but I do think some specific players (any clean one's) do.

As for Mariano, I just saw the video on Youtube, and it looks damning from the angle taken, but I think you'd need another angle to know for sure. The guys been one of the more well known players in the league, for some 15 years now. You'd think that if his secret were to spit on the ball while on the mound, as every camera in the stadium is focused on him, that people would have noticed at some point, before last night. Either way, MLB says there's nothing to it, or that it's inconclusive from whatever it is that they looked at. Hey, in today's day and age you never know though.

Except Ortiz never tested positive for Steroids. He failed an initial test and then passed the secondary test seven days later after going off his supplements. Most likely it was a false indicator (maybe a masking agent), because steroids don't get out of your system that quick.

That being said, they're all on something, and I couldn't care less. Hank Aaron was on greenies (and admitted it), Babe Ruth injected himself with sheep testosterone, etc.

If there really are some of those players, why weren't they pushing the union to do anything about it? They've have a ton of incentive.

What did Ortiz test positive for then? I thought the results were sealed.

I'm not sure why they would, or wouldn't, push the union to clean it up. It could be that some did. The reality is we just don't know what goes on behind closed doors.

They just said a banned substance, theres 100's of over the counter supplements that would cause a positive test to a ballplayer.
Even with the fed getting ionvolved with otc supplements you can still order any number of legal supps over the net that would cause a ballplayer to fail a drug test, you dont have to stick a needle in your ass to fail a MLB drug test.

Especially when you're talking survey tests that have none of the safeguards that current testing have.

So MLB tested all these players, under lock and seal, with the promise that no one outside the inner circle would know the results, yet the results can't differentiate Creatine, and Sterol, from primobolan or deca durabolin. That makes a lot of sense to me.
