A caller just said on PFW in Progress that John Clayton was on ESPN Dallas within the last half hour and said the Pats have been "frantically calling" teams for a third receiver.

Seriously amusing mental image. I can't imagine Clayton being over-the-top though...

Re: Clayton: Pats "frantically calling" around for third receiver

Interesting. Maybe they should have just kept Gallaway.

Good ol Clayton. I'm going to go ahead and call bullsh*t on at least the word "frantic". I'd love to get a guy like Branch - but between Aiken, Edelman, Tate, our TEs and our RBs, we have enough pass weapons left to fill that #3 spot. Frantic implies a level of desperation that likely isn't there.

Re: Clayton: Pats "frantically calling" around for third receiver

Yeah, right. They're so "frantic" they let Galloway walk.

Egghead Junior needs to shut up.

Square peg round hole....

Re: Clayton: Pats "frantically calling" around for third receiver

Clayton should stick to modeling

Re: Clayton: Pats "frantically calling" around for third receiver

Clayton is an idiot..Calling him the professor...He's closer to Prof Irwin Corey...without his genius or depth..

Re: Clayton: Pats "frantically calling" around for third receiver

"Frantically" assumes desperation, if the Pats were desperate for any 3rd WR then Galloway would not have been cut.

If somebody like Dwayne Bowe was available for reasonable compensation and providing he could fit in the cap then im sure the Caserio and BB would be interested, but i don't think that means "frantically".

Re: Clayton: Pats "frantically calling" around for third receiver

Can't you just see Belichick, Caserio and Reese huddled in a nondescript office surrounded by a dozen half eaten bags of Doritos, a case of empty Red Bull cans and four dried up Sharpies on the table?

Re: Clayton: Pats "frantically calling" around for third receiver

Clayton's a pencil necked, nose picking, know nothing. You could fill pages with his wrong guesses.

Everyone knows the Pats are looking for a third receiver, but I doubt that they're frantic about it.

They just extended Aiken, he'll do for now. Plus, Nunn and Tate are next in line.

Depending on Morris's injury, I wouldn't be surprised to see yet another running back.

I don't think the league would allow a WR group of Bowe, Moss, Welker.

Tate, Aiken, Edelman, or Nunn cannot be relied upon as a third receiver at this point. This is an obvious weakness for the Patriots, and they aren't gonig to just sit on it.

They just lit a nfl team up for 59 points in a snowstorm. I somehow doubt they are frantically looking for a receiver

From Webster's...

Frantic: adj

Highly excited with strong emotion or frustration; frenzied: frantic with worry.

Characterized by rapid and disordered or nervous activity

Overwrought, agitated, frenzied, distraught

Archaic Mad; insane

Yea..............All those words describle BB to a T.

Salsbury in his book says Clayton bangs more grade A trim than anyone would believe.

Re: Clayton: Pats "frantically calling" around for third receiver

Holy **** you guys are so defensive.

Clayton's a 'tard, but I believe him on this one. We really need a third WR in there and Aiken is simply not doing it. I don't believe that we're "frantically" calling other teams, but I do believe we're making the calls. Look to see a WR added by the end of the day (and I hope it's not Deion Branch).
