Personally I'd love to see him back as the #3. If it costs a 5th rd or 4th at best, I'd hope the Pats would go for it. He could put on the uniform and contribute immediately (if he isn't hurt again that is).

The cap hit for the pats wouldn't amount to much. The only issue I see would be if other teams with Patriot roots would want him more than the Pats (Browns, Chiefs, Broncos).

Trade or cut Galloway and fill his spot with someone Brady knows & trusts.

This could be big. Branch in, Galloway to the Ravens for a 7th (and his contract gone with him).

I would ship a 4th over to Seattle in a heart beat for Branch......get it done Bill.

IF a deal is swung, it would be a conditional low-round pick. As we all know, Branch has been a huge disappointment for the 'Hawks.

For nostalgia's sake, I'd love to see him here.
Being a realist, I'm not sure how healthy and productive he is and can be.

My .02$

A fourth? Have you seen him play in Seattle? He has done nothing, maybe a 7th but even then I thought he had a high salary.

I think the bridge has burned where Branch is concerned. Not that it matters anyhow as he's toast.

Exactly, we pissed away our 3rd on Burgess, no way do we deal away our 2010 - 4th for an injury waiting to happen Deion Branch with a different knee than the one he left here with.

His salary would be the big obstacle. In 2009, he would only need to be the #3 receiver. A sorta "outrun you, not the bear" thing.

Galloway started his career in Seattle. Wouldn't that be ironic.

Do you have a link or source for the story that Seattle is shopping Branch?

Did you see Moss play in Oakland? Granted Branch doesn't have the physical upside Moss has but guys perform differently in different situations. Galloway seems to still have his speed and athletic ability but with the Pats can't even get in the stadium on gameday. For whatever reason Branch seemed to flourish with the Pats and Brady so I'd be all for getting him here. If the price is right I say come on down.

With Belichick - maybe. Not with Brady, I wouldn't be shocked if Brady could talk Belichick into it if the rest could be worked out.

Pissed away? Hes a consistent contributor on our top 10 ranked Defense.

LOL, give me his major contribution numbers (sacks and tackles) if you could ?

What made Branch special is his route-running and ability to stretch the field on some middle of the field stretch plays. If he had that straight-line speed still in him, I'm for it.

If hes lost a step and is purely a 5 yd out guy, we have one all-world guy now in Welker and a up-and-commer in Edelman already working those routes...

We need him to be in between - not what he was but not toast - just what Gaffney gave us, a limited athlete who was where Brady expected. I think Branch has that left in him.

BTW, the trade may or may not have cost us a SB in 2006 (everything would have been different so who knows) but getting Meriweather for him looks good for right now.

Screw Branch.. He burnt his bridges with Management. I highly doubt the Pats would consider him.

The route that paid Branch's bills was the 15 yrd fake-slant to the middle and then he ran to the sideline and TB. That clearly showed his route-running, quickness and quick-burst speed to the sideline. If he can do that- get him.

Vince Wilfork doesn't put up a lot of stats, yet you take him out and this defense goes to garbage.

Stats NEVER tell the whole story.

Burgess has been a disappointment. Yesterday was his first prolonged playing time in the second half. Prior to theat, he's been seeing time on the Nickel defenses.

Even if so, BF I don't see any value in Branch these days. In terms of skill level I'd much rather have Galloway. But I think he's so far in BB's doghouse now that he's not getting out.

I'd trade Galloway for Branch straight up. Branch has to be better than Galloway (in our system anyway). Clearly, Branch has sucked in SEA, but he was a very good WR for us and Galloway has done nothing.
