OT: Sanchez Observation

I noticed something about Sanchez first in the New Orleans game, and now today. First time I saw it I was surprised but didn't put to much into it, but after seeing it today I am begining to wonder.

In the Saints game, Sanchez's last interception (to Randall Gay I think). The ball was barely out of Sanchez's hands as he ducked to avoid the hit.

Then today, one of the picks, I think the long one he put up for grabs to Edwards. As the ball leaves his hands he is ducking to avoid the hit.

I realize no QB likes to get hit, but I don't remember seeing a QB looking like Todd Pinkston going over the middle.

Anyone else notice this?

Maybe he was a little chilly today. Fortunately it doesn't get cold like this late in the season in New Jersey. Or Foxboro. Or Buffalo.

I didn't check the stats...did he reach the Sandoza line in passing yardage? Regardless, he clearly completed more passes to the Jets than to the Bills (had to be a 2-1 ratio). And he only fumbled once and that wasn't even lost. So what if he just dropped the ball and the result was a missed FG in a game that went into overtime.

Reggie Bush once told me that they grade on a serious curve at USC. If you compare the San-grenade to the other Jets players with pass attempts in the game, he doesn't look so bad.

Sanchez has been exposed for the "not ready for the NFL" player that he is. Unfortunately for the Jets, Ryan made the mistake of starting him from the start, which means that he can't go to the QB who should have been starting without it becoming an issue for the QB, the entire team, and the fan base.

That's good for the Patriots, though, as long as Brady continues being Brady.

The weather certainly had a big impact. I was watching it and the commentators mentioned prior to the start that he has never played in a cold weather. Pity that it is not going to get warmer.

btw, I like that kid. Very composed and humble in all interviews after the first few games when he was the toast of the town. He expressed much admiration for Brady and us before playing us; IMO, sounded quite sincere and not as cheap and loud as Ryan.

Ryan was seen at a local New Jersey burger king after the heart breaking loss drowning himself in a jumbo McShake after downing 4 Big Mac value meals. Wrecks was quoted as saying "it doesn't really matter...we already won the Super Bowl in week 2 and we won't kiss Bill Belichicks rings, but we might kiss his behind if he gives us tickets to the February Superbowl. He then belched and slurped down the rest of his McShake.

Lead by Brett Farve the Jets and their former genius coach Mangini also won the 2008 September superbowl.

The Jets may have lost more than a division game on Sunday.

Jets coach Rex Ryan admitted Sunday night that the knee injury nose tackle Kris Jenkins suffered against the Bills was "probably severe."

Rod Boone of Newsday was more ominous, tweeting: "From the sound of things and the way some of the players are talking, Kris Jenkins' season may [repeat may] be over with a knee injury."

The New York Daily News writes that people familiar with Jenkins' injury fear he has ligament damage and is done for the season.

Because of where I live, I had to watch the Pats game on my notebook and have the Bills-Jets game on the TV in my living room. I saw that happen live. Looked like a vicious ACL injury. That's too bad. I guess it is karma though as, just a few plays earlier, the Jets put a clearly dirty shot on Edwards and knocked him out with a coma (damn near broke his back too). The Jets just got a whole lot easier to run on.

Thomas Jones had 210 yards today ... the Jet's had 318 rushing yards today. With numbers like that you usually win. didn't see the game but if the running game was there wtf was Rex Ryan thinking? For all his prowess on defense he sure knows how to fug up an offense. No rookie QB should be chucking the football like that so early in his career.

That can be attributed to Brian Schottenheimer, aka the offensive genius. He was the one calling the plays. I love it how the media that was rubbing their nipples and screaming in ecstacy over this team for the first three weeks (i.e. - Sanchez is the next coming of Nameth, Rex Ryan and his "Organized Chaos" defense will win the big one, Schottenheimer and Sanchez are taking the Jets into the next level, etc.) are now being made to eat their words. The Jets are simply NOT THAT GOOD OF A TEAM.
