Is Brady back now?

Brady looked very good. Not quite perfect, but VERY good. I don't care how bad the Titans are. Six touchdown passes is ****ing phenomenal. Five in one quarter is even better. QBs who are just "okay" don't do that to any team.

gee this board is knee jerk. brady played well against a struggling team and it was a great win... i don't think is says anything about him being "back" or not. if he starts to play at a consistently high level then we can make that call in a few games

Six TDs is better than "well." I'm not saying he's back season-wise, but damn.

If Brady had struggled today against that defense, then I would have started to worry. Brady did what a good QB should do against a weak opponent. If he didn't, then I would start to wonder if we have a problem here. The man is coming back from reconstructive surgery on his knee. Have patience my friends. I think that this game is a good step in the right direction. :)

Yeah. He's back.

Absolutely. A blowout win going into the bye is a gift from God.

(Especially if it means development of the defense during the time off.)

Brady's biggest problem has been hitting open receivers down the field. Today, he was able to consistently do that for the first time since his injury, in difficult conditions as well.

I know the Titans secondary is banged-up, which is why he had so many opportunities to connect on long balls. But that doesn't change the fact that he connected on them. In games past, he'd miss the open guy by a mile.

Lately, the problems haven't been related to his ability to read a defense, or find the open guy. His accuracy on deep throws was just awful. Today, it wasn't. He stepped into those long throws, didn't miss the open guy, and was incredibly accurate on all of his throws.

I'm not saying he'll have great games like this all the time, but so long as he can hit open receivers, he'll be just fine, and so will we.

Hope you are talking about a blowout next week! :D

Not sure. I thought he was back after the Ravens game and that wasn't the case. I think we'll find out for sure when we play Indy.

 Wow . . . I seriously thought it was this coming week.

*headdesk*

You should look at it as a gift from god you are going to get to watch them next week!

I don't know, man. The Titans, er, Bucs are 0-6. Word on the street is they're pretty desperate. Watch out for those desperate winless teams.

Man I wish i could have seen this game. The highlights looked like it was fun for them
Was he that sharp today or Tenn that bad?
thanks

Tenn had -7 passing yards. MINUS SEVEN? I am a patriot's homer but even I know the Patriots defense isn't -7 passing yards good. Tenn simply sucks (or at least they abysmally sucked today). I am not taking anything away from Brady. To be able to his 80+ % of his passes with 6 TD's and almost 400 yards in that weather? Wow. But 1 game against that Tenn team that played today soooo does not confirm a return to elite form. Nevertheless I like the idea that this is a trend!

Its a step in the right direction.

Brady took his game in the right direction, however, the Titans are mud. That was an insipid and embarrassing performance, even for some rookies out there.

All you can do is beat the opposition you have, and LoMo contributed to Brady having a great game today.

As for Brady being back? We will have to see.

My *hope* is that this performance by the offense leads to the entire offense (from the playcalling down to the last man on the offensive roster) getting that swagger back. No more conservative playcalling, no more redzone failures, no more failing to capitalize on opponents turnovers. I hope the belief is now their that this team could (maybe even should) score everytime it touches the ball. I hope we can look back at this game and say this was when the Pats became the team we thought they could be.

Brady was improving every week with question up until the Denver game. I was willing to cast that game aside because nearly every good quarterback overthrows and then underthrows in that stadium.

He is back no doubt about it imo.

I don't care who it was against, but Brady needed a game like this to boost his confidence and to let him know he can do it.

The Titans rowed their dinghy into the perfect storm. This was due to be an easy game for the Patriots, but when they took the field in the snow against a southern team, it was bound to be a record breaking performance. Just the shot in the arm that the offense needed to get on track. And, a shutout is always good for a defense, no matter the competition.

he was back yesterday, but let's not go all "we should have kept Matt" again if he hits another bump or two in the road...
