via Twitter. Shalise Manza Young just followed it up: "All who asked (there were a few) - it is a healthy scratch for AD. Apparently BB not pleased with his production to this point"

All I can say is holy crap.... time to shake things up.

BTW SMZ is becoming one of the best on this beat..

BB is gonna pull the Richard Seymour deal on AD. I'm calling it.

I would take it with a grain of salt. This is the same source that produce a "second infection" for Brady's knee.

Wow, who was it on TV the other day who called out AD as well?

Apparently I'm not watching the game close enough to notice AD's that poor that they'd rather go without him.

Except that that would put the Patriots over the salary cap; they'll need to eat $7M if they cut him or trade him this season.

Not surprising. There can't be anyone who has been pleased with his play.

Curran reported it, Shalize Manza Young is a corraborating source...

Hopefully this is the only shocking thing related to this game today...

I don't know. Regardless of how you feel about Curran, SMY just said the same thing - and I'd certainly believe her.

Scott Zolak who was derided by the folks at this forum.

Yeah, because apparently his analytical ability was tied into his quarterbacking ability.

Hopefully there's some awkward apologies to Zo coming!:)

I think it is very surprising. I have thought he has been disapointing this season, but I didn't realize his play was benching worthy. There is a difference with thinking he has been a huge letdown this season and that he is so bad that he deserves to not even dress.

I don't watch him specifically or break down the game film, but obviously Belichick thinks he has been even worse than most of us have. I wasn't surprised about Galloway being benched, but a bit shocked about AD.

it wouldnt be surprising ifsomeone else replacing or backing him up was outstanding. for a green young defense benching one of the exp pro's is surprising...

Good, he sucks. What a waste of money he turned out to be.

I hope so. He has not produced like we thought imo.

It's been reported by the Globe that AD is not even at the stadium today.

lets not make conclusions yet

I doubt this. In my mind, AD still isn't giving up the huge play. Solid contributor. And what is his resale value right now?

While we are especially lacking depth at linebacker, why get rid of a guy who knows the system and clearly has the athletic ability? doesn't make sense just to get a couple draft picks.
