been getting database error for about the last 20 hours...............was the site down?........no info on main site.............was it just me?

Didnt work for me either, it wasnt just you. Nice to have it back up

I think it's been the last 5-6 hours or so...at least...database errors...and weird programming notes in the red area...I thought it was me as well...and oddly I revooted and all was fine.....SO that was a coincidence...an dnot a geek to even start to figure what it all was. GLAD it's better up and running!!!!!!

Once again Ian has done a great job of troubleshooting, finding the problem etc, and fixing it--all on his own time.

It must seriously be a b!tch having to mantain, watch over, take care of this site for everyone at all hours.

I'm in the computer biz, and I know how much people rely on you to drop everything at once and be a slave to a machine/network/system that does whatever it wants most of the time.

Anyway, thnx, and nice job taking care of things as quick as possible. We all appreciate it.

I'm surprised Ian is still married ... thanks buddy ... this site has seriously crimped your lifestyle lately. We appreciate it of course.;););)

Started happening to me at 11:00 last night when I was at work. It's been down for me all the way up until now when I just got back online (9:15 P.M.).

I did too. I yelled at my girlfriend and punched a hole in the wall, then started sobbing uncontrollably. Now that I'm back on, I feel much better and have apologized.

I thought that I had banned myself.

was the site down?
Well, a quick peek at the thread list shows that or no one posted anything from 11 o'clock last night to 8 o'clock tonight, so either the site was down or it was a slow night.

I'm going with the site was down.

I thought I gotted banned for asking to have you banned. Whew!

;)

I figured Ian bought a bottle of Scotch and banned everybody until it was gone. I can drink to that.

how long before someone blames Maroney for the outage?

F-in brilliant.........let me write this down.

Man, I got SO MUCH work done while the site was down!

I just figured Ian was just testing new emergency procedures that will be put into place after any and every loss by the Pats going forward. With that in mind I wasn't expecting the site to be back up for another 24 hours.

I didn't know what to do at work without the arcade! I hate being stuck to having to ride a freaking desk, and NEED this site to get me through the day! Screw worrrrrking... lol

EDIT: I can't get on any other sites like this due to blocks. Bastards.

Agreed. These things are an absolute nightmare to maintain. I do envy him his task.

This was bizarre - Thursdays and Fridays I have almost zero access to the regular internet at work -and I work even later than normal. I got on quickly this afternoon with my Ipod Touch app and the mobile version loaded the threads, but the phone rang and I had to get back so I couldn't stay on. E-mail was running, the main page and articles were working, and oddly enough I didn't hear from a single person until 7:00pm tonight when someone got me on Twitter and alerted me to it. So for those who are on Twitter PLEASE FOLLOW THE SITE and ME and in the event it ever happens again please let me know immediately. I get alerts if the server crashes, but since the main one didn't go down there was no alert.

From what I know so far, apparently there was a network issue between the main server and the DB server, and according to the logs I guess it started around 11pm last night. Obviously it's up but I just got home and have to look into why it happened.

Sorry guys - someone did e-mail me and say they ended up getting some work done. But I'm sorry it caused some relationship issues. Let me know where to send the flowers KontradictioN - I'll help you out
