Not sure what THAT is all about...but supposedly they will be saying in a few minutes..might explain his missing practice...and?? That did not sound good at all. But I have looked around to see if there is any information on this...

What was the context in which it was said? Personal? On field off field?

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

Just a tease.....all they are doing is pointing out about his poor play..number of sacks 0 tackles 15.....I was thinking with the lead in that it was something off the field...OR a reason maybe..instead they are just calling him out...NOT what I expected..what I heard was NOT at all what I expected.."damaging" to be might have meant a lot worse..Sorry...I wanted to delete the thread..as I thought it was NOT what it was..but?? couldn't

from what I can see. he has been missing more then just practice. He seems to be missing large portions of the game. It weird, you see him warming up, but when the game starts, he disappears.

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

Basically that was what they were saying...he's there but at a really low level of play...and THAT is not good...

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

Not good at all. The team needed a BIG year from him.

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

I agree that his play had been all but gone. He used to be in on every play but now hes no where close to the ball.

Its like age hit him so fast that now he cant play

Isn't one of the main complaints around here that the Pats have been dropping Thomas into coverage too much?

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

This guy has just been a colossal disappointment. You know, for all the millions of words and endless chattering from the Boston media, this is the kind of thing that illustrates how worthless 99% of it is. Thomas was supposed to be a huge boost to the defense, and he's simply fallen off the map. The Pats' glaring lack of a pass rush can be largely tied to the fact that their big free agent signing designed to address that need has flopped. And why is that? Nobody even ventures a guess.

I'm going to say that playing "no risk" defense is the reason. Apparently Bill and Dean like killing us slowly.

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

I've seen Adalius make a few plays this year. He is more suited to playing in a 3-4, but ever since Mayo was injured, we've been playing in a 4-3. It's not Adalius' strength.

He's still a great pass rusher. They haven't used him in that role because it would require sending a blitz.

Not sure why they don't use at 4-3 DE considering his gigantic size. He'd be better than Burgess at this point.

This was true until this past week when he did chase the QB and got held up at the line every time.

It looked bad

I would leave it to the more knowledgable guys to answer your last query. Thought of chipping in to remind you that he was great last year. Cannot forget the way he threw around Favre and the Jets rb (Washington?) in the early game last year. 'colossal disappointment'?? I disagree.

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

Not sure what is going on w/ AD. Haven't noticed that hes "lost it"

He played 42 of 77 snaps vs Denver and 60 of 70 vs BAL. Thats 73% of the snaps which is respectable.

Up to this point, AD has been above-average and a decent FA signing. The numbers bear that out. If folks expected him to be a 12-15 sack guy, thats not what he was w/ BAL.

I would take performances this week with a grain of salt.

If he has another week like this one, then I'd consider panicking.

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

BB has in drop back in coverage on 99% of the plays. Its the system...and you rarely see a running back or reciever with a big gain when covered by Adalius.

He is not a practice due to a serious personal issue

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

There was an excellent post earlier in the week, that brought out that due to the number of new faces on D..they have been playing vanilla, that poster brought up the point of waiting until after the Bye week before we judge the D...

Re: "Damaging information about Adalius Thomas"...Tanquay

A bit OT: Against Denver in the second half, Was Thomas the one who called time out? Was he running towards the sideline to cover a wideout?

Unless Adalius does something special and soon the dreaded 'Ex Ravens' factor adds another member.
