I know that many around here hate/like him still. Another knee surgery per Adam Schefter. Just FYI.

What happened to him? Someone run into him?

No word yet. He did have off season surgery to clean up his knee and relieve some pain, but I'm not sure if it's the same knee.

Not fond of him anymore because of the way he left (not because he left), but I appreciate all he did for us and he does have the best kick in the history of the NFL. Plus he once ran Hershell Walker down from behind.

I never wish injuries on players and hope that all players remain healthy. Good luck to Adam. I won't even call him the Vinitraitor until he gets better.

He will get a lot of recovery time if the Colts collapse and miss the playoffs, and with Adam in mind, I will pray for that to happen.

Amen, brother. ;)

"Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri will need knee surgery that will sideline him about six weeks, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Colts were expected to sign kicker Matt Stover on Wednesday.

Including the Colts' bye week, Vinatieri would miss five games.

Vinatieri, in his 14th season, has 35 points on six field goals and 17 PATs this season."

I love that they named the extra point after our team. How cool is that? :D

Gostkowski is a free agent next year right? I guess we'll be signing him next.

:D

Yea I don't have a lot of animosity towards AV. Pats offered him X and he too X ++. If Gost wound up being a bust (which he has not) I'd be more preturbed at the Pats FO than AV.

My .02$

I have to wonder if a combo of age/recent surgeries might take a toll on him being able to come back at 100%

Hell of a career to have 4 SuperBowl rings...

:D

Only if there's a new CBA that keeps the current limits intact.

If not, he's a restricted free agent, so if you want him, you'll have to cough up some nice high-end draft picks (I can't see them tendering him at less than a first). :D

Terrible to hear.

Wish him the best of luck with his recovery

Good luck to a full recovery for Adam

Even though he went to a rival team he was not the first to leave Foxboro and he certainly won't be the last

Adam was a sure fire bet to perfectly kick the big ones here and while he was a Patriot he was a sure fire professional classy player.

Lets all hope we can see him maybe in the playoffs where we can block one of his kicks that will decide the game :)

Sadly, the colts don't need a field goal kicker.

Whoever they sign will have a stronger leg and then all the fans will want him keep him.

The way Peyton and his Colts are playing, a kicker would have more points in the season as a Colt with the after TD point than FGs because they are scoring TDs so much

I agree. Matt Stover will be just fine for them.

BTW, he had his right knee scoped to remove a piece of cartilage.
