The Jets won the division and made the playoffs in week 2.....didn't you read the press clippings?

Re: CHFF:‘Rex Ryan D’ exposed by CHFF Friday, ‘Fins Monday

The copy cat league will pick this up...

They are also last in the league in sacks.

That is the most bizarre thing. For a team that blitzes all the time, they get very few sacks.

It was the same with the Ravens last year, not to the same extent but they were something like 18th in the league in sacks. I am fully aware that "sacks aren't everything", that's not the point, it's just weird that they're low as you would think that blitzing and pressure would lead to sacks even if it's the pressure not the actual sack you're looking for.

If you watched them torment Brady, you know how meaningless that stat is.

Re: CHFF: ‘Rex Ryan D’ exposed by CHFF Friday, ‘Fins Monday

How is Vernon Gholston Doing???

Re: CHFF: ‘Rex Ryan D’ exposed by CHFF Friday, ‘Fins Monday

Don't gloat too much on this one. I expect the Jets to come to

Foxboro in November and torment Brady all day. I don't expect the

Patriots to change their game plan one bit.

For a half a game. We completely outplayed the Jets for the first half, then they got momentum and we were completely useless.

And that was without Welker (which was excitedly pointed out by Rex Ryan twice in his post game PC).

hopefully our O is far better in Nov.

Our D is what worries me. I would start believing the possibility that we will 'open' up our playbooks eventually after I see something to that effect.

Just watch the Ravens game again. We HAVE to play like that most weeks. Might as well open it up on the poor little Titans.

Re: CHFF: ‘Rex Ryan D’ exposed by CHFF Friday, ‘Fins Monday

I thought the article was very misleading.

There was no mention of hurry-up or QB hits/knock downs.

Also, the author compliments their excellent pass defense (5th), but fails to acknowledge any connectionc between that and their blitzing.

He says that pressure without sacks isn't valuable because it hasn't resulted in a lot of interceptions. No? Ok, how about an increase in incompletions because of poorly thrown balls? Everyone knows that the more pressure you get up front, the less your dbs get victimized.

While he brings up some good points about the MIA game, I can't get over his inability to connect the dots between the massive blitzing and the excellent pass defense.

He also didn't emphasize that MIA has a very good run offense and that played a key part in the Jet's demise. He stresses only the inability of the Jets defense to stop the run. Let's face it, not every team can run the ball as effectively as MIA, our team included.

I remember Dino6Rings came in here and said that the same thing happened a few times with the Ravens, where they were looked at as having this all-time great defense by the fans, but were actually underperforming in more than a couple of statistical catagories.

I hear they are going to make Welker a healthy scratch so they don't have to change the game plan at all.

That game wasn't televised here and I couldn't go to any bar that day and had to keep refereshing my BB browser for the latest scores;

maybe that's why I have these jitters because I am looking at the Bills, Jets and Broncos game only.

But again, wasn't Flacco easily moving the chains even in that game?

if you look at the ravens historically, they unravel quite a bit if the game is on the line in the 4th quarter with penaltites and over aggressivenss. We saw with the steeler games last yr, the pats game the yr before and the cincy game last week. maybe there is some truth to it. Even the color commenttor on cbs said this last week that when underpressure they play over aggressive and get penalized a lot.
