Per Jay Glazer, this is from another forum.

Lets give the Raiders our 1st, the 1st next year that they traded seymour for, and one of our DB's, i mean holy crap.

How do we afford him? Perhaps we trade them back their 2011 pick and in essence make it Seymour for Asomugha? :p

We had a shut down corner and didnt wanna pay him. Why go out and give up multiple picks for another one (granted a better one) when I actually like the way the secondary has been playing...when we man up.

The Patriots would win the next 2 rings if they got Nnamdi, even if it meant giving up the 2011 1st rounder. This guy is as impactful as Deion Sanders was in his prime.

We're not trading two #1s for him; but, yeah, I would seriously be interested at a more reasonable price.

This is Al Davis we're talking about though, so a 2024 7th rounder should do the trick.....

Asante was nowhere near a shut down corner, of the caliber of Bailey, Nnamdi, or Ty Law in his prime.

THe 2011 1st rounder is equivalent to a 2010 2nd rounder

He's already gotten some of his money, so that might ease the pain a bit. I'd give up one of the two 2011 #1s pick plus the lowest of next season's #2s without hesitation.

I'm almost thinking nnamdi might be the greatest corner back of all time.

THINK about it. Deion Sanders played for incredible teams.

Nnamdi is the best corner in the league on one of the ****tiest football teams in NFL history. THAT is impressive. Cornerbacks get lots of help from the d-line and linebackers when they pass rush and blitz. Nnamdi gets absolutely no support from them and opposing qb's STILL refuse to pass in his direction. Imagine what'd he do on the pats? Belichick called him the perfect cornerback.

This guy is worth a 1st this year and a 1st next year for sure.

Maybe even more than that

Ty Law? He's the only shut-down corner we've had in the BB-era.

And Nnamdi's contract is insane thanks to crazy Al Davis. Never mind what we'd have to give up; how would we fit him under the cap?

If money and cap didn't matter, he'd be a great addition. But with that contract, I don't know how we could do it.

I don't buy it. They just gave him a huge contract. The Pats would have to make some significant moves to fit him under the cap.

I don't think so. I know those trades are made but usually when a specific player is there and not for an almost guaranteed top ten pick. I guarantee you Belichick doesn't consider it equal to a 2010 #2.

They can have Burgess back.

he is the best CB in the NFL hand's down but the pats will never trade for him he's cap hit is to big

they did not give samuel that 1 or 2 million more to keep him here yes samuel is not as good as Asomugha but he was and still is a big time play maker that get's INT's

samuel had 4 INT last season and a TD for the eagels and has 3 INT this year

who's the pats leader in INT oh ya randy moss lol

Ok OK, maybe Asante wasnt a shutdown corner but he was our biggest play maker, but still I think our secondary is playing very well and I dont think its worth what it most likely will cost to get him. I saw him in person yesterday get his ankles broken by a rookie. :singing: Plus I dont think he will impact much of anything if we give Orton the time he had yesterday.

I don't know if his contract is all that bad after this year. I don't think the Pats have the cap room this year without making moves, but his overall contract may not be that bad especially if Davis gave him a big bonus. His contract is strange. He signed a three year $45 million deal. He is guaranteed $28.5 million over the next two years and $16.5 million or the average of the top five players if they pick up his option in 2011.

Now how much of that is in bonus in the first two years which will be on the Raiders' cap and not the team he is traded to? Will he be willing to renegotiate his deal to be on a team like the Pats for longer than three years if he can get out of Oakland?

They gave Deangelo Hall a crazy contract last year after giving up a 2nd rounder for him, and they still released him.

If we get Nnamdi I will cream myself.

That is a guarantee.
