meriweather was in great position all nite but missed/blew by several what should have been routine tackles for him

mankins, overrated like ive always said, struggled picking up his blocking assignments in run game..

koppen couldnt stay on a block long enuf

kaczur overall played quite well

neal inconsisent

vollmer nice job

brady was f' n inconsistent again, missed huge throws in the most critical times

men, we obviously know we should have won that game but didnt...although with brady playing down to his normal and missing two passes that would have been touchdowns and our pro bowl kicker missin that field goal and only losing by 3 in ot...not bad...we were def not outcoached..josh did a nice job obviously but defensively we missed alot of tackles that resulted in big plays for them...that rb slip screen kills us when we r n man coverage..bc our lineman usually blow by to get pressure and dont read it in time..big vince is quite good at reading the screen on occasion..orton played his best game of the season, made several huge accurate throws just in time unlike brady who played decent at times but not brady like overall

mcgowan played terrific overall

springs played well just unfortunate on the marshall touchdown, almost perfect position

our rb's missed alot of creases on the shotgun draws plays

mike wright struggles more than our other interior linemen n the run game but a good pass rusher

adalius thomas played awful, especially setting the edge against the run..he could be outa here next year..i wasnt high on him last year

mayo's weakness is obviously pass coverage, zone or man...guyton kills him in this department

wilfork is beast

randy moss is lazy sumtimes and could run block better and more consistently

jonathon wilhite is one of our weakest corners and he's a pus# as well, but i will admit he has improved from last year and can be a pretty good backup

patriots 12-4 superbowl champs if no major injuries in 2009

Considering all the negatives that you found in the Pats team, why is your conclusion 12-4 and Superbowl champs? LOL. Just wondering.

Re: who struggled? well here is who i noticed!

bc we have a great coach, i believe brady will get back in sink, i think oline can be good enuf to get us by, and im really high on the overall defense..as was i before the season

Re: who struggled? well here is who i noticed!

Didn't read the whole manifesto.. was Ghost in there some where?

If he wants to be big time he has to make kicks that matter in close games not just 40-7 blow outs.

Re: who struggled? well here is who i noticed!

yes i agree and yes i mentioned him missing that field goal...pro bowlers gota make it, no exceptions

Yep, that was almost as good as a game winner. I know he's a human, not a machine, but that kick has to be made.

So Denver got very little pressure on Brady, and we ran fairly consistently, yet you conclude that 80% of the offensive line didn't do well? There are legitimate critiques of the team's performance yesterday... and then there's this.

On a side note, I disagree with you on probably three quarters of what you said

How can you say that? Kickers are allowed to miss once in awhile, it wasnt like it was a chip shot either. He made his career long 52 yarder earlier in the game and missed a 42? yarder. If he had missed the 52 yarder and made the 42 then we wouldnt have this debate, but please dont get on Gotz, the guy is a beast, all of his kickoffs are in or out of the endzone.

RB poor @ blocking to protect his quaterback .

mankins, overrated like ive always said, struggled picking up his blocking assignments in run game.. He had one bad play. The O-Line wasn't terrible. It was hurt when Light went out though.

koppen couldnt stay on a block long enuf This is usually the story of Koppen's life. He does what he can, but he's an average player. He had no business making the pro bowl a few years ago. If there is any offensive position that may be upgraded next season, this one might just be worth a look.

kaczur overall played quite well I have to agree.

neal inconsisent Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that Neal is usually the guard called upon to provide help to Koppen when he's in trouble. It may cause him to play a bit tighter to the Center, and could affect his game adversely.

vollmer nice job Well put.

brady was f' n inconsistent again, missed huge throws in the most critical times So true. Let's hope he turns it around. And let's also hope that our offensive coordinator finds some more creative ways to spread the ball around.

He had a rough stretch with the media. As it turns out, they don't know sh*t. McDaniels did fine. Orton did great.

mcgowan played terrific overall True. True.

springs played well just unfortunate on the marshall touchdown, almost perfect position Springs got picked on like a school yard runt. Just sad. He was a sorry shell of himself in that game. We'll see how he performs nest week.

our rb's missed alot of creases on the shotgun draws plays The coaches must have seen enough of Maroney, because he only got a handful of carries. Also, where was Law Firm?

mike wright struggles more than our other interior linemen n the run game but a good pass rusher He wasn't great, but I think that Jarvis Green didn't play well also.

adalius thomas played awful, especially setting the edge against the run..he could be outa here next year..i wasnt high on him last year You kind of hit home here. Some posters love to make excuses for the lack of big play numbers from 3-4 players, but we are in a 4-3 now. This man is not making his presence felt. He has not made big plays.

mayo's weakness is obviously pass coverage, zone or man...guyton kills him in this department I have to disagree with you here. Mayo does not have his full range yet. I noticed that he cannot make all of his cuts yet, because he may not have full confidence in his knee. There may not necessarily be any physical limitations, but there could be some psychological hindrances.

wilfork is beast Yup.

randy moss is lazy sumtimes and could run block better and more consistently Randy could use a little more intensity in his game. Maybe his back is bothering him more than we thought.

jonathon wilhite is one of our weakest corners and he's a pus# as well, but i will admit he has improved from last year and can be a pretty good backup I think Bodden was the rented mule in this game. Orton worked him most of the game. He's usually good, but he had a bad game.

I put my comments in bold. Let's hope we can make it all the way.

I think the blame is that the offense is stagnant and very predictable. Yes, Brady is rusty. Every player who has ever missed a year has been "off" for the better part of a year after his return. My problem is that everyone seems to think that if we cross our fingers it will get better.

Let me be clear. I think Brady is the best QB in the game today and should have his name mentioned in the top 5 best ever. But anyone who has watched this team regularly can tell what play is coming. There is ZERO CREATIVITY and I think the OC or lack of one is to blame. For all of Belichick's accolades, and there are many, I don't think offensive creativity is one. This team needs an offensive mind to help Brady out of his funk. And no, I don't wish Josh McDaniel was still here. He COST us a SB, don't forget.

I bleeping hate those plays! Has anyone not named Kevin Faulk ever consistently done much on those? They look like a broken play. They don't fool anyone. I wish they were taken out of the playbook.

If Brady is in the shotgun and they aren't lined up 5-wide it seems like it's almost always that play.

Run draws with Brady starting under center, IMO. That way it's perfectly normal to have a RB in the backfield.

Sorry, man, that was practically a game winner - a top, pro bowl kicker makes it.

I give our offensive line an A grade---they were spectacular against Denver. Elvis Dumervill didn't do squat. Brady just missed his targets, plain and simple. Dean Pees probably coached the worst gm of his career

Pro bowl players do miss FGs every once in awhile. Not many kickers can make 53 yarders. His kickoffs were as usual outstanding. Are you really blaming the loss on Gots?

I couldnt agree with you more. Great post. First thing I thought about after the game was the lack of play calling and creativity from the OC.

Randy Moss looks lazy with his pass blocking, Maybe it is because of his height/frame or he doesn't want to get hurt.

No I'm not - he had a good game but you can't cost the team the game and not be included on the list of goats. It's the life of a kicker and I imagine Gotti agrees with me. He's a good kicker and had a great game until that kick.

He definitely did not cost the team the game. You are being a little harsh. Did anyone else cost the team the game? or is this loss all on him?
