What Changes Would you Try with Easy Games Upcoming?

I would trade the #1 in 2011 for a stud DE who knows the system and has a lot of post season experience. If he only has 1 more year on his contract, big deal - WIN NOW.

I would get a vet LB who can play ILB or OLB and is a stud goaline TE. Someone that played for Belichick for several years and knows the defensive scheme.

I would go after a utility Olineman since Light is done. Maybe someone who can also play fullback.....maybe someone who can even play TE in a pinch on goaline formations.

Load up on picks for next year and unload DEs who have had several wothless sacks over the last 3 years in a weak AFC West.

Ok, I don't get it.

These games are NOT for experiments. We play one game at a time. TENN is capable of beating us if we don't take the game seriously. Belichick will NOT make the mistake of treating a real game like a preseason game.

The defense is improving each game and needs to continue to get better and better, especially with regard to working together. The offense needs to get more and more in sych. The offense doesn't need experiments.

The goals for this week are simple: win the game and improve in all aspects of the game.

SOME IDEAS
I would make the offense simpler, taking out plays that cannot now be efficiently be executed. The boss shuld dtep in and run the unit with the major issue: the QB and receivers. Belichick should design the strategy, the game plan and how the plays should be called in the game. Charlie and Josh used to design with an understanding of limitations of the players available in any given game. Having 50 yard plays in the playbook when Brady can't come within a couple of yards of the receivers is not good coaching.

TO BE CLEAR
We need some solid wins. We should go out as the Giants did this past week, and maybe Hoyer can have some playing time.

Kontra,I had similiar thoughts while watching the game yesterday....why does Maroney dissapear for long stretches in the game??

Peter King has a snippet on this in his MMQB...something to the effect that Maroney was only given five of 27 carries and that the Handwriting is on the Wall...I'm not sure whether I agree with him, but I thought I'd pass it on.

i wish we wouldn't call any games "easy." none of them are, even for a team that's firing on all cylinders, which we definitely are not at this time. i just don't think we can look at any game as a gimme or easy or a cakewalk or whatever else folks are calling them when we don't have a pass rush and can't get a running game going...

It's comical the amount of people that were complaining about Galloway before are now starting to beg for him to be reinstalled into the line-up. This offense is sorely missing another vertical threat. If I were Brady, I'd work extra after practices with Galloway and Welker to get the timing down. Especially Galloway though. Now that he's been out, you can tell that it wasn't all him and that Brady had something to do with the various amounts of miscommunications as well.

Re: What Changes Would you Try with Easy Games Upcoming ?

Well I'm not a Hall of Fame coach but my eyes tell me Maroney needs at least 3 passes thrown to him every game especially against a fairly aggressive Denver defense.

I support this post x10,000.

The lack of passes to Maroney teeters on being willfully neglectful. I don't know how coaches can watch tape of him catching passes and making things happen and think "We need to do less of that."

I agree. Maroney is really good in space.

Willfully neglectful is an awesome word to describe the lack of Maroney in the passing game. If I didn't know any better, I'd almost have to wonder if they were saving a couple of dump offs to him for bigger games later in the season to reveal the Pats' "Weapon X". :D

There are no EASY games coming - Any given sunday

Ask Cincinnati who thought cleveland was going to be easy.

An 'Easy looking' game is a ******ed term to use in professional football with more Parity year after year

Does anyone think 0-5 Tennessee is going to be easy???

Easy when compared the schedule that we just got through. Not easy in football terms. Trust me when I say that I don't think the Patriots will be taking the Titans lightly.

If we're a playoff team, then a home game coming off a tough loss against a bad team had BETTER be an easy game. If not, stick a fork in us.

Not that it's preseason but we should win these games.

I would like to see :

- Galloway starting again, one more try.
- Maroney getting 20 touches a game
- Butler starting with Bodden.

Put Hoyer in ... let Brady see what's it like to be a rookie again ... he needs some competition.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Seriously ... better execution of the offense will cure many things ... it will come.

LOL wow @ the thread title. Easy games? Experiment time? This is why people hate us.

I didn't say to experiment but, in case you haven't noticed, changes are needed. Or maybe you think yesterday was just a wonderful, excellent performance that we can continue on with. Well I don't. It's time to make some changes - you will notice I didn't suggest anything crazy; but the status quo is not OK unless you're going to be happy at 9-7 or 10-6 at season's end.

I do agree that giving Maroney the ball 20+ times in one game is a good idea. Ths olution for quarteback rust is indeed to take some pressure off the passing game. And just BTW, if this happened, I would also expect 3-5 receptions from Maroney.

With regard to Galloway, I agree with you tha he should play in the next tow games, but I think that his ship has sailed. He's pi$$ed off someone. It could have been in his game play, his practices, or simply something he said to coaches or Brady. This is no biggie since Edelman's 15 catches projects to more than Gaffney's 2008 total. In any case, we still will also have Galloway or Tate as the #5 for now, behind 2008's #4 Aiken. Curiously, Aiken is liked by the coaching staff and drew Champ Bailey for most of the game.

With regard to Butler, he seems to be coming along fine. I see no particular reason for him to start ahead of Springs, except as the equivalent of preseason exposure. I do see Butler playing more and more as the season progresses.

BOTTOM LINE
I think that we should do whatever it takes to maximize the chances of beating TENN.

In case you didn't notice we had plenty of chances to win that game, yeah maybe Galloway may eventually start again or he could be cut, yeah maybe Maroney might get 20 carries a game but maybe that situation doesn't come up, making any changes at this point is experimental. We have all the pieces in place right now but we need to play better. I saw pretty good things from springs yesterday expect for the td pass to Marshall. IMO if Brady and company step up and get on the right page and we start getting a little less conservative on D we will be in great shape

i would like to see maroney get 20 to 25 att in the runing game and at lest 5 catch's

i would like to see them throw the ball to moss more even if it's only a 3 yerd pass just get him the ball

i would like to see AD moved to ILB and guyton and TBC at OLB when they are in the 3-4 guyton is much faster and is a better pass rusher then AD right now

i would like to see Wilhite and butler start at corner

Bodden sucked sunday and springs is to old to stop a #1 WR any more

i would all so like to see Edelman line up in the wild cat and try it just for fun

Thanks, I did watch the game. I saw us score no points in the second half. I saw us give up a 98 yard TD drive. I saw Brady go 5-14 in the second half. I saw the Broncos move virtually at will including an 11 and two 12 play drives.

If you are good with that, great. I'm not.

If this team falls to 3-8 there will still be homers telling us that all is well and the playoffs are a certainty.

I never said I was good with that but Brady missed throws, and we need to play some man coverage, I dont think Maroney getting 20 carries or Galloway starting would have any effect on Brady missing Welker in the seam. I dont think having Butler over Springs playing 10 yards off the damn ball would have made any diffrence. The problems are with the Brady and the Deffensive philosophy.
