After Wilfork called the coin toss in overtime last night and seeing that we had lost, I got an eerily similar feeling to last season.

Looking at our schedule, I realistically see us going 11-5

Last year we went 11-5
Last year we lost a game in OT
Last year we lost the coin toss in that game and never got the ball
Last year we missed out on the playoffs at 11-5

I know last year we didnt have Brady, but he has to play better

Defensivily, it bothers me that our CB's play 10 yards off the ball. Towards the end of the game, I was at the point where I was thinking I'd rather lose on a 50 yard Bomb than 8-6 yard dump offs to WRs.

Anyways, I think it would be a damn shame to miss the playofffs by 1 game again and to have a loss in OT never getting the ball

To compare this season to last season...

I think Brady is where Cassel was at this point in the season, and Cassel had way more rust, and accuracy issues.

Both teams were 3-2 after 5 games. The only difference is that last year the 2 losses were blowouts, and this year they were decided by 7, and 3 points respectively.

We have two losses now. We still have to play @ N.O. and @ Indy; unless we start playing WAY better we'll get trounced in those games. 11-5 sounds pretty good right now. Imagine yesterday's pass defense against Manning and Brees.

Last year has nothing to do with this year's record. That said, I could see them going 11-5 or 10-6, especially with the Colts and Saints on the horizon.

If they don't start playing better, 11-5 will be a pipe dream.

I say punt, go for 5-11 record, trade the tenth pick for a few more 2nd rounders, bypass studs for some Chad Jackson, LoMo types. Use the saved money for washed up offensive weapons unlikely to make the game day roster, or trade future picks for sack masters from 2004-6. Don't spend to the cap, use saved cash to sustain other businesses.

We also play the Titans, Bills, Bucs, Dolphins (twice), Jags, Panthers, and Texans. The Pats have only three games left with teams with winning records (at this point) for the rest of the season. The AFC South has one good team (Indy), NFC South has two (Atlanta and Saints), and the AFC East have 2 (Pats and Jets). Those are the three divisions the Pats play. The Pats have already played the Jets once and Falcons. They have already played their strength of schedule games (Ravens and Broncos).

I still think 12-4 and even 13-3 are not off the table. The Pats have beaten two good teams so far (Atlanta and Baltimore). It isn't out of the realm of possibility that they go 2-1 or 1-2 against the three good teams left and sweep all of the bad ones left.

Besides, the Pats haven't been trounced yet even with a four game stretch of the Jets, Falcons, Ravens, and Broncos.

You're right, but I see some other losses looming unless we play better. Heck, we almost lost to the Bills who look positively dreadful.

I keep waiting for the O to get it together. If they do, 11-5 will be a disappointment.

First, Miami is currently 1-3, if they loose to the Jets, fine. If they win, fine. I think the Pats and someone from the AFC Central will be fighting for the last playoff spot. The JETs have a really easy schedule. They will go 12-4 at the worst. Baltimore will crumble and Pitt will rise.

The Pats will go 11-5 or 12-4, if they can win in Miami and get into the playoffs. They will have to travel in the first round as well. A first for Brady.

11-5 or 10-6 seems about perfect for the talent of this team

I do think we may be going wildcard route though

I think the Jets may be good enough to steal the East away this year

We should be 5-2 after the break..

After that we have

Miami - will be tough, but should win..

at Indy- well if Manning is playing like he is now , we will be in trouble.

NYJ- revenge game, I say we win Belichick does not get swept in the division

at NO- tough but Id say we gut out a win..

at Miami- always tough but should be a win

Id say 9-3 going into at Buffalo, jax, carolina at houstion 12-4 more realistic, 13-3 still a dream..

how's about we just focus on going 1--0 this week?

Well if we dont beat the 0-5 Titans and the 0-6 Bucs by the time we play them, then I think we can forget about what else would be a win or loss, then the draft talk can commence..

What a load of crap. 11-5, fine, maybe, but these comparisons are beginning to drive me insane.

I wonder if the OP realizes that last year, Brady was the starting quarterback. He got injured. Therefore, he will be injured this year as well, correct, OP?

Yeesh.

I expected 11-5 going into the season. We have gone 1-1 against division rivals, and 2-1 against three pretty good out of division teams. 11-5 still seems like a reasonable prediction. 12-4 is certainly doable.

The defense has progressed faster than I expected, especially after losing Seymour and then Mayo. The offense is about where I expected them to be.

I understand that those who expected a 15-1 season are seriously disappointed. However, I think that such a prediction was a wish and a hope, which is fine. We all like kool-aid.

16-0 and 15-1 was not going to happen, Id say 13-3.... But 12-4 would be realistic.. The first 2 was just pipe dreams...

i would say that brady is play better then cassel was at this time and the D is better then last year's D

the big thing is they where geting a 150 yerd's a game from the runing back's at this point

i can see them wining 11 game's and geting a wild card spot
