We are 3-2.
We split our division games.
We are 2-1 against solid non-division opponents.
Yes, the jets and denver are better teams than I expected them to be.

We should be fine coming out of the bye. I expect 5-2 now, but expected 4-3 before the season started. A 7-2 finish is reasonable.

OFFENSE
Before the season, we had absolutely no reason to believe that Brady would be anywhere near 100% before the bye. Manning was 3-4 coming back last year and then went undefeated. The open question is when Brady will be back to more normal performances for him. The rest of the offense is fine. There will be the normal changes and issues, but it is basically fine. Edelman is fine as a #3 receiver. Watson is having a fine year. The offensive line has been better than anyone had any right to expect.

DEFENSE
We are already a very good defense. This is an incredible achievement for the front office, for the coaching staff and especially for Pees. This group has performed so well without so many of their former stars, and with Mayo out. The transformation of the secondary is al but complete (we need more development of the youngsters). The linebackers have been performing well. McGowan and Banta-Cain have been incredible additions. Green is the same lunchpail player he has always been, and Wright has stepped up big time. It is also great to see the kids develop, especially Guyton and Pryor.

You and I seem to be a couple of the few non-thinkers of DOOOOOM!

Re: We are at least where I expected us to be.

This is all well and good, but what you're missing is that in the first 2 road games, the offense was terrible and the D cannot make a stop, when they needed toThey may look like gangbusters at home, but when you lose on the road, because of stupid penalties and offensive, ineptness,it's a trend...not an anolomly.

Re: We are at least where I expected us to be.

WE ARE WHO WE THOUGHT WE WERE!

Sorry. I couldn't resist.

When I saw the schedule, I thought we'd drop the Jets game and one of the Falcons/Ravens games. But overall, it's what I figured as well. Maybe that's why I'm not panicking like so many people.

Re: We are at least where I expected us to be.

Even though I was FURIOUS, because after all the "sucking" today, we SHOULD have won. No one seems to think about that. We SHOULD have won. "We were out-coached, played... blah blah blah." They SHOULD have won, bottom line. Brady will ultimately start hitting Moss on the long balls, and not throw sure touchdowns to Welker in the dirt. It's all on him right now, in my opinion, but that won't be forever.

Right now, you think Brady is DONE? Just stop posting, forever.

+3

I actually LIKE where this team is going. Its not how you start the year its how you finish. They should know that better than anyone after what happened in 2007

I agree, except that we need to get more aggressive on defense. 12-4 or 13-3 is very doable this year. 11-5 occurs only if the **** hits the fan.

Italia44, please go buy the 2003 season recap DVD. The Patriots lost their first game 31-0 to the atrocious Bills. The lost in week 3 to the mediocre Redskins. This team has lost to two of the best defenses in the league. Same record through five games.

If we continue playing crappy like this, you need to forget about playoff game or expectation. Perhaps, you need to stop watching Pats games.

Stop whining and read the post above yours.

Exactly. The lame duck sitting back sh** was annoying the hell out of me. I loved the aggressive approach they took last week. What happened to that?

So who do we lose to now, who we didn't think we would? Coming into this year, I basically wrote the game in Denver of as a loss, so after the loss I reasoned with myself that I expected this to happen. I think people are just annoyed because they really let it slip away.

Something ringing in my mind is the announcers in the Jets game saying that the Jets weren't playing the Prevent, that prevents you from winning.

I know we play a bend but don't break style of defense, but when that is just not working, THROW THE SINK AT THEM.

Very hard to do playing on the road in Denver ... most teams wear down by the 4th quater.

IF I see another post from your negative a** I may just puke.

Re: We are at least where I expected us to be.

So far, the D has CONSISTENTLY hold our opponents under 20 pts per game while our O has been mediocre.

I have never expected it from 'TB'.

Please don't forget to use TB's jersey to watch your mouth afterward.

I don't care if you SH!T or PEE or SPIT on his jersey.

When i see TB SUCK, I'LL TELL YOU THAT HE SUCKS.

Re: We are at least where I expected us to be.

Tom Brady had PLENTY of mediocre games before 2007.

In week 15 or something of the 04 season he threw four picks against Miami and the Pats lost 29-28. Then they took the playoffs by storm and won the title.

Get a memory check, please.

I was thinking that, BUT they played aggressive getting the stop at the end of the 4th, THEN just go back to lame duck getting tore up.

I just would like to see some more pressure on the QB. If it is blitzing a safety, LB, CB, I don't care, the receivers are open as it is anyway. I know the defenders are quick to tackle, and I get that is the idea, but this style defense is really only good if your offense can outscore the other team, right?

I also think Brady did not, and has not played well, but to be so negative about everything accomplishes nothing.

If Brady can make his throws more accurate this team will excel........until then.....their going to have problems

He revels in misery ... does not even understand the game. Mostly posts after the game and usually adds misery to the company it keeps.

Here is the REALITY. You know what happened to RedSox right? It is going to happen to Pats if TB doesn't get his sh!t together.
