Freaking Chris Mortenson just whined on BSPN that the league should look into calling it a penalty for players imitating a ref thowing a flag when they think a penalty should be called. He mocked Brady and said he should leave the officiating to the refs. Is this is the first time he ever noticed it or is he taking the BSPN anti Pats theme to a new level. I freaking hate BSPN:mad: Hey Mortenson, GFY:mad:

Tons of receivers call for flags on pass plays, tons of D-linemen point to refs for a false start penalty.

Pats haters always come out of the wood work for ANY little thing they can bash the Pats about.

If they ever made it a penalty for someone to imitate a ref throwing a flag, then every single WR in the league would be in trouble every play - and I would be penalized about 500 yards in my own house :D

This happens every game several times by several different players. It's just one more thing for them to pile on Brady and the Pats about as if they are the only ones who have ever done such a thing.

How often do you see a player petitioning a ref to make a call or pick up his flag? Mort is being ridiculous. If a ref makes a call based on a player's guesture to throw the flag, he has no right to be on the field calling a game.

This is good for us. It will make us play better with more fuel on the fire to win. The more controversy, the better.

And to Mort and the rest of the mediots, keep brining it, we will too.

If a ref were to call this on Brady then everyone would know that the refs listen to the media. Mortenson actually did the Patriots a favor.

Brady does sometimes act like a teacher's pet, you have to admit.

I think there should be a penalty for a QB feigning a hit, like when they fall over after barely being touched.

Not that Brady is the only one who does it.

Where were all the Pats haters last year?

Maybe it's not a Pats hatred thing...maybe it's a Brady hate thing?

Chris Mortensen should be fined for imitating a sports analyst:rolleyes:

How is that? Please provide facts to back up that claim.

No, I won't admit it. I have never seen Brady take a dive. After the hit by Ngata he had to readjust his helmet. Brady is as tough a QB as there is. The media blitz against him os so strong you even have Patriot fans questioning it.

I don't know if Mort said it as his opinion BUT i know that Bill Polian mentioned to Mort that the compeition committee may look into a penalty in the off-season for players who "lobey" like Brady did.

Think Mort was reporting what his buddy Polian told him.

That's about the dumbest thing I've read all week, and I read the Merrimen vs Wilfork thread

another reason I don't watch espn anymore..
just wish I didn't hear about it at all.. ignorance is bliss for me :)

I think whenever ESPN approaches Brady for an interview, he treat them like BB treated Tom Jackson. With a big F..U.!

Maybe I missed it but i don't think so. Mort even went as far as trying to humiliate Brady by mocking him and in a demanding tone told Brady to leave the officiating to to refs. F him:mad:

A b igger favor than that.

In 2001 BB conbvinced the team that no one respected them, that it was them against the world. He continued this theme in 2003 and 2004, and the Pats felt disrespected by the media even though they were favorites.

Pats got lots of respect in 2005 and 2006. In 2007 was spygate and it was us against the world.

Now BB will have a staffer compile a video of every QB in the league, one after another, imitating a ref throwing a flag during a game, followed by the Mortenson comment, and act like the referees are doing it.

Once again, the team bonds together because all they have is themselves, the whole world is against them.

BB must be so grateful to Mort.

On CBS Marino and Boomer both said they lobbied for calls.
