Re: Felger: Start Ben Jarvis Green Ellis

Agreed about Felger and that he's a joke.

However, does anyone want to comment about what Christian Fauria said????

Can anyone confirm that is what he said? Its what a poster paraphrased, which is not always accurate.

Re: Felger: Start Ben Jarvis Green Ellis

BJGE won't start unless Maroney and probably Morris get hurt. Just deal with it and move on

What does he know?

He thinks he sees Maroney dancing, not hitting the hole.

My eyes are playing the same trick on me.

Maybe I will get some glasses so that I can see the truth

I guess Bruschi is an as$hole too for saying this week that Laurence is still dancing at the LOS and not doing much :rolleyes:

Face it Maroney lovers, even your favorite son Bruschi says he sees little in LoMo...Its Morris time IMO

Thanks, Mods

It's good to see BJGE's name spelled correctly in the thread title.

Given that Light himself noted that the blocking failed a lot on the runs this past week, and given that he's seen the tapes that Bruschi hasn't, I'll go with Light on this one.

RB by committee, not sure the title of starter has much meaning. I hope all the RB's perform well. I am glad that BJGE was kept on the roster, and that decision will pay dividends this week (many didn't want to keep law firm).

So what you are saying Deus is that Taylor ran 7 times for 25 yards which is not great but even worse was Laurence who ran 7 times for 6 yards ..so what you are saying is in those VERY same carries between Maroney and Taylor is that the OL didn't perform well during all of LoMo's runs but were substantially better in all of Fred's 7 carries?.....Thats ridiculous

Fred pushed his way to 25 yards...albeit not that great but LoMo pushed his way to less than a yard per carry.....and you guys wonder why the majority of the fans booed loudly and louder than any boos I have heard since Bledsoe was throwing picks in Shaeffer

Considering that they were running predominantly in different formations and different circumstances, that's not ridiculous at all. As is usually the case with you, your severely limited understanding of football makes things seem a lot simpler and more cut-and-dry than they really are.

At what point are you going to factor in that they were facing the best run defense in the NFL? Nobody can run effectively on the Ravens, and that includes Taylor and Maroney both.

And I don't wonder why the majority of fans were booing loudly. The majority of our fans are idiots, and they were just as stupid when they were booing Bledsoe as they are now.

You know a lot about football more than I, so the question is when is Sports Illustrated or USA Today calling to hire you?

There are so many maroons in here with excuses galore and failing hopes year after year for an obvious worthless #1 draft pick that BB and Pioli blew thier first pick on that its downright hilarious to see you guys grabbing your nuts holding on to hope . - Maroney blows...get over it

If Chad Jackson were still here we would have the same 'give him time' bullsh!t that some of you spew out - BB and Pioli had a horrid 1st and 2nd 2006 draft, thank goodness that was not the norm

7 carries for 6 yards...yeah,I don't know why we are arguing ,Maroney is great!

I don't know what type of talent there will be in the 2010 draft for RBs,I hope we look hard at them

Whatever Belichick decides is fine by me.

Who gets to "start" is somewhat irrelevant to me - but with Taylor out I can see BJGE getting a good number of touches.

Although I'm in the minority, in the half of the game that I saw Maroney didn't have very good run blocking - I saw him running hard, straight forward, hitting the run blockers, then trying to do something with nothing.

I find it hard to fault a guy for that... and I find it hard to fault the Offense for focusing more on protecting Brady than making holes for Maroney.

Light noted the failures of the offensive line when asked about Maroney commenting on the blocking. Belichick has kept Maroney as the team's #1 rb since 2007.

Are they "maroons", too?

Just an observation - the Maroney "debate" seems to provide a perfect line of demarcation between the quality posters and the junk posters on this board. It makes perfect sense that Felger jumps into the junk side. All of you who think Maroney is trash and BJGE is the second coming of Barry Sanders should be more than a little concerned that Felger shares your views.

I am going to bump this thread and in particular this post sometime in the near future. I am so tired of the "quality posters" people who think they are better than others.

Re: Felger: Start Ben Jarvis Green Ellis

we're going to need all these running backs by seasons end and more

Light noted the failures of the offensive line when asked about Maroney commenting on the blocking. Belichick has kept Maroney as the team's #1 rb since 2007.

Are they "maroons", too?

Well they're certainly no Felger.

Let's not fool ourselves here and back up an argument by throwing BB in there. He may be the greatest coach alive, but he's not perfect. He's made plenty of bad decisions regarding players he's had on this team.

Some of them work out, and some of them don't. I've supported Maroney for awhile now, but the guy just really hasnt proven to be a first round talent.

Now, maybe if we can some how get him more involved in the passing game, he could salvage himself into a dependable third down back, and maybe have a break out game here and there, but this year is definately his last chance to step it up.

In defense of "letekro" he has posted 1,669 times on a message board. He seems fully qualified to determine which NFL players, sports commentators and Patsfans.com posters are "junk" and which ones are not.

Well they're certainly no Felger.

To be fair to Felger, a lot of the media has been bashing Maroney, just as a lot of the media was bashing Cassel last season. It comes from a combination of a kernel of some level of truth (even if the 'truth' isn't on point or is misleading), a bunch of lazy 'analysts', and a media that's both too lazy and too stupid to do its own research and thinking.

Instead of letting it bother you, let it be a call to arms to you and your brethren to tighten your game up, and bring some rational arguments to the table.
