Speaking of Vilma, I watched Inside the NFL last night, and on the play where Sanchez fumbles and N.O. recovers in EZ, you can see Vilma trying to wrestle the ball away from his own guy. Nice.

The Jets are so over-rated right now it's comical.

Jets? Sanchez Fined $5,000 for Illegal Block Against Saints - Bloomberg.com

They are fining everybody but Sanchez does not need to be flinging his rookie ass over the field and trying to take out the knees of John Vilma.....Hmmm funny Vilma just happened to be a former Jet

I think you will see more and more dirty plays as the season progresses from Rex's boys.
I don't think this was a dirty play. It was just a QB way out of position who had no idea what he was supposed to do so he panicked. We saw virtually the exact same thing from Brett Favre during the preseason - and he was fined too.

This is a stupid fine. JMO.

no it isn't.............this is his 2nd offense..........Sanchez got a warning from the NFL,after doing same against Houston.Next time it will be 25K.

I saw it happen and wondered to myself why there wasn't a penalty or fine issued. It was completely unnecessary. Sharper was well ahead of any Jets attempting to tackle him and Vilma was about 10 yards behind. Definitely a total cheap shot.

Maybe Sanchez thought he was proving something to his teammates, but he could have seriously injured Vilma without making any noticeable impact on the play.

Rex probably told the Jet players before the game to take that ex-Jet bastard out and show him who's boss..I wouldn't put it past him.

At first I thought this was a joke, but then it dawned on me that you probably really do believe this...

when did it dawn on you that Sancheese is NOT a franchise QB yet?

Sanchez most likely learned this at USC under the tutelage of Pete Carroll.
He's a "wicked" cheata....:D

i don't think so...

i'm impressed at how quickly the Jets addressed how NO shut them down last week...there were nine guys in the box on every play, stifling the run and daring sanchez to beat them...they had clearly concluded that none of the Jets receivers were a big threat to get open for Sanchez before they could collapse the pocket around him...with the addition of Edwards, that's going to be a very risky strategy

these guys will be trouble all year...

There was a penalty on the play, it was applied on the following kickoff.

Talk about a dirty Sanchez.

Yeah- slightly different, since Favre was trying to throw a block, and Sanchez was trying to get to the ballcarrier/engage his blockers on his int, but the same principle. QBs don't know how to block or tackle, so they tend to look stupid when they try to, and I don't buy that Sanchez was trying to hurt Vilma.
