Are you kidding me?

Wright fined $5,000 for roughing the passer - Extra Points - Boston.com

"I received mine yesterday for $5,000," said Wright. "It was just saying that I had touched his facemask. That was about it. I'm going to appeal it. I watched it again yesterday. I really just went to grab his shoulder, slipped off his shoulder and just barely touched his facemask. That's not roughing the passer in my eyes. I wasn't trying to bring him down by his facemask or anything like that it just slipped off and hit him.

"I think it's wrong that they are calling it that close. We're just trying to get him down. I don't know much more we can do other than just wrap him up and wait for the whistle. [Note:That is exactly what Wright did to Flacco on his second sack.] The guy is trying to get away from you. It's tough. I'm going to try to appeal it. It's interesting what they do with the Ravens, but I do my best to take care of my business."

The Ravens had a pair of roughing-the-passer penalties called on them for hits on Tom Brady, but there is no word yet on fines.

Edit: I messed up the subject, but I imagine "Rouging" the passer would result in fines AND an epic beatdown. Unless it maybe it was Jeff Garcia.

Such BS,You could clearly see Mike's hand just happen to drop in front of Joe's helmet and touched it on the way down,No way was it an illegal hit or grab.

Goodell has officially turned the league into flag football.

who care's about flag football, how about the fact that Wright got fined and as of now, Ngata has not. He hit Brady so hard in the head that his helmet actually turned. I never been one to believe that the NFL has something against the Pats, but this makes no sense at all. The Suggs issue is one thing, since its hard to intent, but how do you fine one guy for something and then not fine another player for the exact same thing.

after all the bad press the nfl has been receiving in regards to the so-called brady rule, I wouldn't be surprised if this fine isn't in light of that.

So because you look bad you fine a guy who doesn't make superstar money for something that REALLY doesn't warrant a fine?

They still could fine Ngata, but if they don't, this will simply be outrageous.

Ngata's been fined too, and is also appealing. Garbage fines but at least they're consistent and fair.

Where did you see Ngata had been fined? The only thing I saw was an 'unnamed NFL official' telling the Ravens none of their players would be fined a day or two ago.

On another forum they're saying that reports are coming out that Wright, Ngata and Anthony Spencer on the Cowboys are all being fined $5k for their "blows" to the head.

The Ravens comment was cleared up, the comment was referring to the already-reported fact that the players (Lewis and Reed) would not be fined for their comments after the game.

They should make these incidental contact 5 yard penalties and no fines, especially when you can tell it was an accident. Im surprised they're levying fines for this.

I don't have any problem with the penalties. The rules are the rules. But the fines seem a bit excessive. Neither one looked intentional.

The fact that Suggs isn't fined however is a joke. That one looked totally intentional. In fact, I could see a situation where that wasn't called a penalty but was fined later on. I believe that has happened before to Wilfork.

Next time around, Wright should just earn the $5k fine, hit Flacco helmet-to-helmet, and bury him into the ground. On top of this, Suggs wasn't fined at all. This is a ******* joke. I'm not usually one to conform to conspiracy theories, but I guaruntee you that this is all because Goodell isn't the biggest fan of the Pats. What a piss poor excuse for a Commissioner this clown is. I long for the days of Tagliabue.

why is every one so mad for lol it's not any of our money

if the NFL want's to fine the pats and make them look like thugs then good we can use some of that on D

It's the premise of the situation. One of our players gets made out to look like a bad/dirty football player because of a pansy little slap to the facemask.

Why don't they fine Mason for the same thing, he SHOVED his hand smack into a facemask.....
Alot more flagrant than Mikes

OOOOOOOO I forgot, they are trying to protect the ladies.....
Carry On
