Mayo: what's your guess about him playing this week?

I wouldn't be surprised if he saw action this week or still missed several weeks. I doubt he would miss more than another week or two just because he is practicing. We have no idea how bad the MCL sprain really was and how close to healed he currently is.

If he wasn't close to returning though, I doubt he would be practicing.

If he practices at full speed all week, I don't see why he wouldn't play against the Broncos.

I have no idea if he'll play but we could really use him against the run. Denver is 24th/25th in Pass Attempts this year and 5th in Run Attempts. Guyton has been fine but if Mayo is ready we could use him this week.

The positive there for New England is that Buckhalter is out for the Broncos.

Yeah, and his YPC is way higher than Moreno's. However, like us they have a stable of RB and Moreno/Jordan will be more than capable.

I think as well as the defense has played that BB will keep Mayo out for as long as the defense plays like they are or at least until the bye week or maybe he plays in London.

Why take a chance to bring back a player too soon that is crucial to the team down the stretch when things have gone pretty well so far?

The knee is one of the most scary injuries for football and you don't want to fu(k around with it until its 100% - I am sure Mayo is not 100% yet

Next to impossible to guess with injuries on this team. I think he'll be back soon but count me in with the save him until after the bye crowd. Don't feel like taking any chances.

In the long run this injury is not all bad. Of course it sucks to lose a player like him, but remember he has never played a 19 game season yet and our goal is for a 19 game season. Usually he takes most of, if not all snaps in a game. So given he doesn't get injured again, he's going to be alot more fresh for the stretch and playoffs.

I think he practices all week and is listed either as doubtful or questionable for the Donko game. I doubt he will be playing though; he probably needs to get back into shape first. After another week of practice (next week), I could see him being listed as questionable for the Tennessee game but getting the start anyway.
