A very significant stat for this weeks game against the Broncos

denver has given up the fewest points so far this season

their stats for points scored and points allowed is 79 and 26 respectively

while the Pats at the same time (ie 4 games) have 87 and 71 respectively........ this is going to be a very interesting game.......atleast as far as Brady is concerned..........

by the by the broncos have played cinci,cleveland,raiders and dallas in the first four weeks, so by the looks of it pats may be the first real offense the broncos face this season

The Broncos, aside from the dysfunctional Cowboys, have beaten up on the garbage of the league.

The Patriots have taken down multiple undefeated and quality opponents.

I think what is going to happen is a tight game in the first half, followed by a blowout in the 2nd half as the Broncos stubbornly fail to adjust and become very predictable.

The only equations that don't seem equal are Belichick and Brady, and I am not sure that those are not canceled out with McDaniels knowledge of the organization.

We got lucky yesterday that, for whatever reason, the Ravens stayed in the air versus the ground. They had good ground numbers against us. As well they had a 60% plus 3rd down conversion rate. Those things need to tighten up.

We beat the Bills by a lucky break, and the Ravens by a dropped catch. These are not "dominating" performances by any means at all.

Don't sell the Broncos short. This is a tough road game and the Broncos will lay it all on the line.

Mile High is a tough place to play, our history vs Denver is terrible, McD has some good knowledge of us (as we do him), and Denvers D is much improved so I don't count them out but we are obviously the favorites and we should beat this team and by a good margin.

There is one HUGE reason why the Bengals don't scare me... Kyle Orton. His averages will catch up with him, he is playing way above his head right now. I am expecting him to make a couple big mistakes (INTs) against us. I don't fear any team that hands Orton the ball.

This will be a very big test for the Patriots.

funny how every week everyone picks denver to disintegrate and play to the level everyone expected, no one gives them the credit that maybe they ARE playing the football they are capable of.

bengals are 3-1 beating GB and PITT, denver held them scoreless for 59:20. raiders are the raiders, they suck, same with the browns, and guess what you do to bad teams? you kill them, they put up a combined 9 pts. what else are they supposed to do to a bad team, shut them out?

the first team they play, dallas, who WAS leading the league in rushing, had their running game shut down. barely over 3 ypc for a team that was doing well over 5, as well as a handful of sacks for the team and 2 more for dumerville.

seriously dont know what else the team is supposed to do to get respect from anyone, they kill bad teams and are beating the good teams, yet every week they are expected to lose...

Here's a stat that makes me confident the odds are in our favor i think were 30-6 since the end of '06 games. IMO it will be a tough game, it always is in Denver. I also think the odds are Merril Hoge and Shannon Sharp will pick Denver.

I expect a very ugly game with some inefficient red zone offense on our part. Crowd noise will be a huge factor and the Pats play clock issues will be seen. How many times has the play clock run out on the Pats this year? Pats will abandon the run early in this game against a feisty Denver D and get pass happy. A very hostile environment+altitude issues+Mcdaniels familiarity with NE=upset special.

I think this game might be the other "dud" game Pats put up this year. Pats have been mighty fortunate to be 3-1 at this point. Denver is just a darn tough place to play--no matter who is playing for the Broncos, they play insanely awesome and just look unreal against the Pats. I can totally see this happening.

When the Pats were marching at the beginning of 07 everyone said the schedule was weak. The Pats were still great that year.
Dallas had just rattled off consecutive 200+ yd rushing games, then Denver held them in check. Their D-line is much improved, and their secondary is still formidable.

How the Pats will handle Brandon Marshall should be fun to watch, and how they choose to play Kyle Orton will be interesting.

The Broncos traditionally gave us trouble, imho, mostly due to how Shanahan prepared his team. This situation is completely different.

I agree in part , especially the one on Dallas getting shut down on their running game but don't agree that the Broncos are 'killing' the bad teams.

They were fortunate against the Browns (that's the first game with that miracle bounce-off catch, right?) but then, so were we to have a key play in the last few minutes of two games go in our favor thanks to our opponent's inability to deliver. Both the Broncos and the Pats capitalized on the errors made by our opponents and that's what separates the good teams from the average.

I have always discarded the opponent's record because I strongly believe in the saying "Any Given Sunday".

That said, here are the quick reasons I expect us to become dominant very soon: Brady slowly losing his rustiness, Welker and Moss in full strength, Mayo coming back, and most important - the D gelling together.

Rodney made a great point that BB played vanilla D in the first two games to give an opportunity for the new D to work without its six starters and that he was slowly opening his book as the season progresses.

So, here's hoping that the Pats players don't get coc*y going by what the experts on ESPN are saying about the Broncos and focus in getting a W.
