Ian's Daily Blog - According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, it appears that Ray Lewis will be fined for his comments following his team’s 27-21 loss to the Patriots. No word yet on the amount – but it’s also worth noting that Lewis dove at a sliding Tom Brady during yesterday’s game. Not exactly a smart move by a [...]

He has a point. They shouldn't baby the Qb no matter what team they play for. Yes people favor Brady cause he is pretty much the face of the NFL alone with Peyton. But come on. If they would have won he would have been quiet. It is one thing to say it when you lose. But to say the same comments when you win even if it's about your own qb is better class.

Maybe we shouldn't baby LB's or DLs with that dumb "chop-block" rule? what an idiot.

I also would like to call Ray's attention to Mike Wright's personal foul while sacking the crap outta Flacco....

I'm glad he got fined. The story today is "QB's should toughen up and the refs need to stop making bad calls" when the story SHOULD BE "Can't anyone lose anymore without blaming everyone other than themselves?" When you lose it is because of some grand conspiracy, when you win it's because you are the MOST DOMINANT TEAM EVER IN THE HISTORY OF ANY SPORT! These are grown men, not pop warner kids, start acting like it please. The NFL is going to get to the point where they give everyone a trophy at the end of the year like a bunch of little leaguers, because no one can lose without having a meltdown.

Did Vince lose his mind to the media after the Buffalo game for the horrible roughing call in the end zone? No. Let the media create the non-stories that consume Monday-Saturday, not the players.

Their whining falls on deaf ears with me, and if one of our players dives for a QBs knees like Suggs did they should get flagged just like Baltimore did.

I remember the "we're fu**ed" feeling against KC when Brady went down in week 1 last year. Not something we want to experience again and if these guys are going to continue to do it they should know there will be consequences. Hopefully the Fine Fairy pays a visit to Suggs' locker as well.

Of course we should not baby the LB's or DL's but they should be protected if that crap happens like what sanchez did yesterday.

Because referees call chop-blocks at the same rate as roughing the passer. . .

It's not like the likelihood of a chop-block occurring is much higher or anything, though. . .

Wrong.

Watch the Jets game and tell me they're babying Brady.

You're just wrong.

And, if we're going to stop protecting QBs, can we also stop protecting Ray Lewis? From now on, I'd like to see chop blocks on Ray's legs, crackback blocks on his knees, holding calls with one guy holding high, and the other guy diving low. Are you OK with that? Is Ray OK with that?

Protect Ray Lewis, not Tom Brady.

Gotcha.

You make a strong argument.

Not sure what you're argument is.

Go again.

I'm not even sure what you are talking about.

Ray Lewis should shut his mouth when it comes to this crap, or accept OL attempting to leg whip him, or chop block him when he is engages with a blocker. Afeter all --- Hes a MAN!

please...

the reason you don't see as many chop block or leg whip calls is because everyone understands the RULES. Rules that have been in place for years. I don't hear Ray Lewis b!tching about the roughing the passer call on Mike Wright after the game.....? strange.

Did anyone just here that douchbag Wilbon on PTI. Agreeing with Lewis then saying owe they will play again like their will be some big payback. I thought this game was supposed to be payback.

He is seething with Patriot hate. I hope he stews in another superbowl.

What a jerk.

You can cream the QB, the Jets creamed Brady all game, just cant go at their knees when they're in a vulnerable position, it can end seasons (dont we know it) or careers. Also cant hit em in the head, the rest of the body is fair game.

Yeah what a putz... so many hatriots out there. I don't enjoy all the negative media, crying, whining and all the whoopla.. but it's a hell of a lot better then when we had a laughing stock franchise.

Someone send the memo to Rodney, who I like a lot, and I get that he was joking, but I'm a little surprised that his own experience with Bobby Wade didn't give him specific perspective on why there are rules in place to protect the knees of guys who aren't in any position to defend themselves.

I love it, personally. I'm a Red Sox fan who never really understood the Yankee hate (and even that was sorta-kinda-not really justified because of the salary structure), so it's not homerism- just recognition that success breeds bitterness. They only hate the Pats because they make most of the other teams in the league look like the also-rans that they are.

This type of stuff is happening to and against the Patriots, and most teams this season. When an MVP QB goes down in week 1, the league is going to get together and tell refs to try and protect them better. It's not just Brady being protected, look at that awful call vs Wilfork in week 1.

Maybe Ray is jealous because a larger % of fans go to watch QB's in action than LB'ers.

The last line is classic - "Oh and by the way, the Ravens have never beaten the Patriots..."

hehehehehehehehehehe :singing:

It'll be interesting to see how Ravens fans react the first time Flacco takes a significant shot to his plant leg.
