Anyone see this? Apparently he thought they had stopped NE on 4th down, but they had not. He went running off the field etc. Funny.

I saw that. He must have been thinking it was 4th and goal, lol:singing:

It was the ref's fault. ;)

I'll go ahead and mention that I would love to see Ray Lewis on this team next to Jerod Mayo and Adalius Thomas... idiot or not. :D

Ray Ray has jumped the shark. The only way he gets attention now is by praying in front of a camera whenever someone gets hurt, looking for laterals during interception returns or scaring reporters with his mental patient sweating tendencies and manic facial expressions in post-game interviews.

BTW, he must do the same to the guy who counts tackles for the Ravens defense. He was credited with 7 solos (14 total) and I can't recall more than 2...and one of those was Brady's slide when Ray Ray almost "McNabbed" him.

Pretty sad that you can't even admit he's a great player. C'mon man.

how much of a cap hit would you take for him; not a few years ago, but now, at this stage of his career?

Not only that, but he said that Suggs' penalty kept a drive alive. it was second down, and Lewis thought it was third.

Makes you wonder if he's lost it mentally.

He's not aware of basic game situations.

No dis to Ray, but Ray Lewis at 30+ versus Jerod Mayo on a rookie contract at 23 is not something I would trade.

I'm happy where we're at, while still admiring the on-field physical (maybe not mental) play of Mr. Lewis.

Yeah, that was cool when I saw a Raven do it but when I realized it was Lewis is was even cooler.

I remember Adalius saying in an interview that a lot of the linebackers that played with Ray weren't huge fans of him for that reason (I think Hartwell was another that didn't like him). Basically, he had sort of a reputation, according to them, for 'finishing' their tackles and then getting credit for them.

He was a great player. He is a good player. Besides the stuff on Sproles 2 weeks ago (which was a great play), what indication has he given you that he is still a great player? What is he really great at nowadays? Coverage? Rushing the QB? Stuffing the run?

And please don't quote tackle statistics to me unless you can find 7 solo tackles by Ray Ray in the game yesterday.

Not a huge one, obviously. But he's still really, really good.

He's a fabulous player.

The celebration, though, is shocking. How can he not be aware of the situation there? I doubt he would have played it any differently, but if he thought the team was in a goal to go situation, who else on the team did? Maybe it was coaching. Still, it's rather amazing that even after a minute timeout to measure, one of the key defensive players on the field did not understand the down and distance on a crucial play.

I would love to see Ray Lewis on the team next year, but wouldn't give up much for him. I thought the play where Brady slid was a cheap one by Ray. If you check out the play closely, Ray sticks his elbow out and gets Brady in the back. Could have broken some ribs like McNabb did.

Ray should not only get fined for that unassisted dive he took low on Tom but also one for when he took a dive on Tom after Tom slide feet first. If Tom didnt put his head down he would have lost it.

Yeah, that was weird. When I first saw the play I cringed because I thought a Raven had the ball and was running with the fumble, but it turned out to be Ray Lewis "celebrating" a Pats first down.

The more I watch the Ravens, the more their overall weakness appears to be a lack of individual discipline. It's like they get so emotional that when things don't go well they tend to break down a bit, make mistakes, lose momentum as a team. Anyone else think that's true?

I agree with you.
That's the price you paying for being such an emotional team.
It's a double edged sword.
It allows you to do great things but does not help your consistency.
Because when you get down, it can make the lows lower.

I see this mark in the Jets.
I think once they get smacked in the mouth and I think it's only a question of when they too will turn into an undisciplined bunch that will be pointing fingers.

WAS great - quite possibly as good as any MLB there has ever been. No one has ever played the position sideline to sideline like he did in his prime. That was almost a decade ago at this point.

He isn't much more than a decent to good player these days with a tremendous amount of hype driven mostly by an embarassing level of self promotion. He isn't a bad player but the truth is all he really excels at these days is falling on piles last and jumping up first and dancing for the cameras.
