2. mcdaniels knows the pats tendencies

Of course this doesn't work both ways, and BB doesn't know McDaniels' tendencies. . . .

the thing that worry me are mcdaniels knowing the pats and the altitude.

Next week may prove, though, that the Pats need to extend/franchise Gostkowski, lest McDaniels try to do some more poaching. . . .

Pats secondary weak??? They have not been paying attention, our once weakness is now our strength.

They're right. Their defense will shut us down, and Orton will not make any mistakes to give us points. Dumervil will toss Brady around like a rag doll and make him cry uncle.

We're dooooomed!!!! :D

I completely agree with your sarcasm. 1. Our offense is much more in sync than it was against a Jets defense that is better than the Broncos'. 2. Orton, mistakes or no mistakes, won't march down the field against our defense. 3. If we can contain Ngata, Dumervil won't be much of a problem.

I live in Denver, and for the first time in my life I have started semi-rooting for the Broncos because of McDaniels. In fact, I was more optimistic than anyone I know about the Broncos' season. Most of the Broncos fans I know are completely surprised at the 4-0 start and know that they are not an elite team. Everyone here is aware that the Patriots are a much better team than the Bengals, Browns, Raiders and Cowboys.

Should be an "easier" game than the Ravens, even considering home-field advantage.

Orton is Chad Pennington circa 2004. DBs need to cheat to the inside and dare Orton to throw the out pattern. He's a QB with an exploitable flaw. I'll be very upset if he tears the Pats apart over the middle.

Regards,
Chris

That Broncos D is an enigma. Who knows how good it really is? That being said, that is an awfully tough place to play, and Josh McD's familiarity with our system and personnel is a huge advantage. We will need to be sharp to get the W.

The bigger issue is that McDaniels knows our players' tendencies, strengths and weaknesses. BB only knows about the Donks what he can see on tape.

Penny was better.

The Pats should win this game by a 10-point margin at least.

Denver does have a strong defense. I don't care who you play; 6.5 ppga is damn good. It's their offense that has me 90% sure we'll win. Averaging 19.5 points against the Cowboys, the Browns, the Bengals, and the Raiders is inexcusable. Orton is not a good QB, and Pats secondary is getting verrry good. Their run defense is the Pats' greatest flaw, but I don't foresee much of a problem there, either. So sue me if I'm not worried about Moreno and Buckhalter!

I have no problems with the Broncos fans being confident. After a 4-0 start and having a great defense so far, why wouldn't they? I think if I was a fan of the Broncos, I would be predicting a win this weekend too.

Personally, I think the Pats will win this one since the Pats are considerably better than any team they have faced thus far.

Denver fans ALWAYS talk the talk whether or not the team can walk the walk, so it doesn't surprise me in the least that they're already flappin' their gums. But honestly, Dallas is the only serious team they've played so far this year. And they could stand to be reminded the only reason they beat the Bungles was that last-second fluke play.

I wouldn't say Dallas won't make the playoffs, but I think they made some pretty boneheaded decisions yesterday. Belichick knows a little more about the game than Wade Phillips, me thinks. ;)

What situation would you rather have?

Denver where McDaniels knows everything about the Pats offense.

or

NE where BB knows everything that he ever taught McDaniels about football.

This is going to be a tough game becuase McDaniels may try to outthink himself. I still will go with if BB knows everything about your offense, you are going to have a tough time.

The key to this game will be stopping Knowshon Moreno, make Orton throw (alot) and double cover Marshall.

This is still the Denver team that could not stop anyone from running on them last year (granted they have moved around and switched to a 3-4) but in the end they have not introduced that much new talent to the defense.

Denver has beaten the ladies of the poor and beat a well overated Romo this week.

I think the Broncos are by far the weakest 4-0 team right now...err shall I say 4-1 by this Sunday at 7pm :D

Romo, overrated? Not at this point. Nobody outside Texas has thought he was any good for some time now.

McDaniels seems to be doing a good job, particularly at blocking out all of the distractions - another Jedi mind trick. But McDaniels taking on Darth Hoodie is sort of like Obi Wan Kenobi trying to take on Darth Sidious all by himself. Big league mismatch.

Geez, I sure -hope- the Donkeys' fans expect them to win. They're 4-0, playing great defense and the game is at their place. They wouldn't be very good fans if they were predicting defeat in that situation, would they?

True 'nuff. What kind of fan isn't psyched about their 4-0 team heading into a big game at home?

I don't think ANYBODY really knows what the Broncos are made of at this point. But given all of the gnashed teeth and burnt effigies of McDaniels we were seeing four short weeks ago, this has been a dream start for them. (Of course, the fans predicting they'll demolish New England now are probably the same ones who were moaning the loudest back then....)

link?

as far as Sunday's game...i don't know about anyone else out here, but playing the Bronco's in Denver brings back some really bad memories for me...

this is a franchise and, increasingly, a team that ALWAYS deserves to be treated with respect and a good dose of humility...

personally, i don't see anyway that Josh beat Bill in their first matchup, especially when one has Orton and the other has Brady under center...but, stranger things have happened,

when the schedule came out, i was glad this one came up early in the season and mentally circled it as a "gotta get that one behind us" game...

Not predicting a win over here, but also not sold on us losing. I think it will be a very good game, and to predict a blowout would be questionable, to say the least.

I did an indepth breakdown of our team in the visitor's locker room forum if anyone's interested in reading...but to put it simply, our D is, at the least, a top 10 defense in the league. We're playing at home, and Marshall is just starting to become healthy, caught up, and a key member of the team again.

The thing with the offense--it should, presumably, get better from week to week. McDaniels brought in a completely new system, everything changed, and if you've watched them play, each game they seem more and more comfortable.

Against the Cowboys yesterday, the first half was weak, but the second half they would continually move the ball but penalties killed them. Absolutely KILLED us, would've been a painful way to lose.

Don't think Denver's overlooking this game either...they're well aware of how difficult their schedule gets, and they know every game is huge at this point.

I really don't see this as more than a 7 point game on either side.

It was only two or three months ago they were crying for McDaniels to be fired and their world had ended when Cutler was traded.

How things change....

i mentioned this in another thread but....

the donkies are playing really good football right now, and u have to be weary of a team thats doing that, and also has luck on their side....

dont take this game easy, although i predit a more or less convincing win for the pats

Why do people think Penalties happen in a vacuum? Lineman don't just hold by mistake. They hold because they're getting beat. Cornerbacks interfere, because they're getting beat. See a pattern?

This kinda parrallels Pats fans questioning Belichick for suspending Terry Glenn. I don't predict or expect McDaniels to even come close to the success of Belichick, but it is similiar that even though what looks to appear to be weaking the team is actually strengthening it by weeding out players who don't fit into the system no matter how great they look to outside observers. I think the Culter comparisons to Bledsoe are correct in that they were both overrated, but good QBs who didn't fit into the system that McDaniels/Belichick were trying to create.
