Anyone know what the vegas odds were of Mike Wright having more sacks (3) than Richard Seymour after 4 games? Since Wrights career high sack total was 2.5, I'm thinking the odds were about a mill to one. But hey, the kids playing great. Roll Wright!

Re: Seymour/ Wright

Agreed. I'm actually starting to appreciate the Seymour trade. Wright is the better choice on the d-line.

Re: Seymour/ Wright

Ya, he has been really effective this year. Great story being a UDFA. I knew before he was pretty good, but he keeps impressing in an all-around way. Hes better against the run and is getting more chances to pass rush, so hes getting more sacks.

Re: Seymour/ Wright

yes wright is off to a great start and at this rate would have 12 sack's at the end of the year

but he is no seymour

seymour was asked to eat up 2 blockers on every down so the LB can make the tackel or get the sack

wright is asked to play one on one in passing down's as a passrusher most of the time

if seymour was let free to do that he would have had 10 sacks every year for the pats

yes im happy wright is on our team and i hope he make's all pro

but no he's not on seymours level yet

Re: Seymour/ Wright

Wright isn't even close to as good as Seymour is, but he doesn't need to be (if he was, he'd see some of those double teams that Seymour gets on every play). He's done a great job for us either way.

Re: Seymour/ Wright

Wright has improved a lot. He's got tremendous strength.

Re: Seymour/ Wright

Wright has done admirable work, but let's not get carried away. Richard Seymour remains a far superior player. And I say that as someone thrilled with the trade.

Re: Seymour/ Wright

It goes along with PatsNUTme thinking we have a player named "Endleman"

yeah...everyone knows he's a piece of cake...

Re: Seymour/ Wright

What I like best about Wright is he plays his role very well. There are times he could slide left or right and get to the QB but he doesn't. His job is to collapse the pocket and he just keeps pushing right in the middle.

Considering that he has had 3 sacks while not straying from his role makes his 3 sacks all that much better. He might have 4 or 5 but at the expense of the QB stepping up and possibly having a long completion ... well done Mike. I have been posting about him since preseason where I noticed he's gone up a level in play.

It is worth remembering that some people think Wright would have been a top draft pick but he ended up with a pretty bad injury and missed his entire senior season (or at least a lot of it).

But obviously he is not a physical freak or anything like Sey.

Well, maybe not at Seymour's level, but how about a 4.8 40 and a 35" vertical at 6'4" 295#? :)

He's got..... the WRIGHT STUFF ;)

Wright is playing great....but it's ridiculous to think he is the same caliber player as Richard Seymour.

Seymour could only eat up two blocks when there were two guys blocking him. Teams were starting to double-team him less.
