Tanguay: Galloway may be deactivated today

Just heard on 98.5 Sports Hub Patriots pre-game show. Said he's hearing Joey Galloway may be deactivated b/c the team is not happy with how he's not picking up the offense. Said to stay tuned. Sounds like a developing story.

I would be surprised if that happened...BUT...that would mean Welker is playing and that Edelman and maybe Aiken would be getting reps. Not a large surprise.

If Tanguay is correct and Galloway is a healthy scratch, look for Edelman to replace Galloway and Welker and Moss to return to their normal roles.

I am as well....I am wondering if not Tate but Nunn who will be brought up..at some point as he's been with team right along. I think Tate will take time to get into it all as a receiver.

Clearly the Pats saw more current utility in Edelman than Nunn (which is why WWMM is on the 53 and Nunn's on the PS).

That said, I could see Nunn being activated, but definitely not this week.

Not necessarily just for run blocking. I see them being very active in all areas, receiving, blitz pickup, chipping, etc.

Over the years, the Patriots have rarely had two receivers on the field at once w/ great speed. Moss/Galloway has been the exception.
