Some love for the Pats' silver jerseys

I was surprised to see #5 on this list:

I wonder if the writer knows that the Pats have retired those jerseys anyway.

For the record, I think the silvers look good when fans wear them, but not so much when the players wear them. When the players wear them, they look like the white jerseys covered with sweat stains.

I can't remember if it was on here or on Patriots Planet, but a while back someone posted an article from the team's website saying that they would no longer be wearing the silvers. No word yet on if they'll make a different one or do like the Bills and wear a full throwback as an alternate.

I've heard rumors that Bob Kraft doesn't like it when the team wears red jerseys.

Yes, they are, and they can only wear them for two games each year.

i remember that...same as the blue home jersey, but instead of blue it was red. That was a nice uni

I actually detest that silver jersey. I'd rather they did a red version of the current jersey, or go for a black one like those you can find in the pro-shop.

They haven't worn them since 2007. Both Casale and Perillo said they weren't going to wear them last year, which was the final year of the NFL's 5-year mandatory uniform policy. This year the NFL allowed the AFL teams to wear an extra alternate (i.e. home and away throwbacks), although the Broncos are wearing their orange alternate as well.

I have an authentic silver jersey. I'd be disappointed if the team no longer uses them.

Yeah but that's different, because they're celebrating the 50th anniversary season for the 8 AFL teams. Usually it's only two games.

I think they should steal the Steelers black and gold. It would make up for the Penguins stealing the Bruins colors years ago.

Ugh... I never got why the Steelers went with the rounded numbers and shoulder patch. That was needless. If they wanted to stay classic, just keep the traditional squared numbers. They still look nice on any team. The Pats outlandish experiment with them ended mercifully before the SB run started. I just wish that the Pats would've dispensed with the side panel look on the white jersey and had a solid blue pants. I think that an "All Silver" look would've been sweet, too. But hey, that's just me.

I remember that they wore them during that sad 28=10 loss to the Packers where they looked absolutely pathetic. Since then, as silly as it sounds I have disliked those unis immensely.
