lol, i loved that play....brett increased my respect for him with it...

how uplifting is it for a team to see a QB throw for a long completion, and then run 40 yds downfield to block for his WR? and totally takes out the defender?

sure it was useless, but when the O and D dont see favre behind them, and see him coming from where the play was at, it lifts u as a team

that was a very sweet play

On 3rd and 12 from his own endzone, Farve completes a pass then pancakes a defender with a block 40 yards downfield.

I still think it's too risky to do that kind of block coming from a QB. :)

Small difference: Favre came back to play again, E.T. didn't.

EDIT: I see you've corrected the link

I don't like the Favre media love, and I don't like the unretiring schtick, but I like that play.

I think Favre is an indecisive prima donna who melts down late in the season.
However, between last week's heroic TD and this blocking clip, he's really improving his image in my eyes.
If my eyes serve me correct, that block was on Patrick Willis!!

He must really want to stick it to the Packers.

Yeah, that was Willis.

That's correct , the block was clean on Patrick Willis , but not like that Crackback Block against Eugene Wilson during pre season game.

...and then retires again?

I don't care, I'm still highly pissed that SF couldn't seal the deal. That DLman had his Lordship within arm's length; he should've made the sack before Farvequad made the pass.

I hope that traitorous bastard leaves Lambeau on a stretcher.

What a dumbass.

Do you think he pays a camera man to stay on him for his stunts?

You know, I'd really like Brett Favre, if he wasn't such a dink.

But... but....... BUT GUYS........ can't you see he's like a child out there. He's only having FUN! :bricks:

If I am on a defense playing against Favre, I'm just waiting for him to start running downfield to get involved in a play like that.... Then I am taking his head off.

:D :D

Second that .

I have to give him credit for that play. I don't think any other QB in the league does that. I hate what he does with the retirement/unretire bull, but that was an amazing play, as was the game winner, that was an absolute bullet, and him escaping the rush was classic Favre too. He is still a gunslinger, and Greg Lewis made an amazing play too. Was rooting for the 49ers, but I have to tip my hat to Favre, Lewis and the Vikes.

he can do things like that because he doesnt practice all week. he is the most well rested player in the league

My favorite aspect of that play is that a 40 year old man beat his receiver in a 40 yard dash after spotting him 20 yards.

And you know you're NFL royalty when the player you blocked helps you up and then the back judge tucks in your shoulder pads for you.

Re: OT: Brett Favre completes a pass and then runs down to make a block!(Video)

One thing I really, REALLY don't get is why everyone in the media is suddenly changing their mind about Favre just because he threw a game winning TD pass. Yesterday I heard Tim Hasselbeck saying that he now realizes that Favre is playing for the right reasons and how much he loves the game because of that. Why? He threw a game winning TD. Was he supposed to throw an incompletion or take a sack? It makes no sense to me....

It's a what have you done for me lately league. Wait until his first 4 int game this season. They'll be back tracking real quick.

As far as the block... He's the only QB who could do it as he could care less if his career ends tomorrow. He has free reign to do whatever he wants out there.
