According to ProFootballTalk.com after the Jets win over the Patriots, Jets wide receiver David Clowney posted: "1 play in the 1st Half, 4 plays in the 2nd half . . . A bit disappointed about my playing time but very happy and satisfied about the win."

Head coach Rex Ryan found out about the comments, and apparently decided to bench Clowney completely for Sunday's game against Tennessee.

One thing to point out was shortly after that Tweet he posted, "My team always comes first so I'ma just keep grinding . . . And we gonna keep winning."

I didn't think it was that bad, but they apparently really have to watch what they say

Im willing to bet $100 dollars that if Sanchez or Revis said something along the lines of me first they would have played on Sunday.

Apparently Ryan will not tolerate any criticism of the team by any members of the team, especially from a WR who has never caught a pass in a regular season game.

I think Ryan just wants to foster and project a united front.

If the first part of your last name is CLOWN...You can expect dumb things to happen to you....

==============================================

And you would win that bet.

Keep in mind that Clowney challenged Usain Bolt to a race via Twitter about 8 weeks ago.

The problem Rexy had with the twitter post is the fact that Clowney didn't do several of the following.

Edit: Corrected after the PFT discovery. It should now properly reflect Florio's code in journalism.

A. Talk **** about an opposing team. all players.
B. Talk **** about an opposing coach. all coaches.
C. Play the disrespect card. my scoop was stolen, no one takes me seriously. /Cry card.
D. Talk some more ****.

In all seriousness though, I don't see anything the guy said as being disrespectful to the organization. Twitter is a way for players to speak to their fans (assuming Clowney has fans or supporters) he was just commenting on how disappointed he was with his playing time, which imo, is more of a comment on himself. I could be wrong. I don't know anything about the guy, but if you want to play, force the coaches to play you.

*Whoops! Maybe I should pay more attention when I read. Just noticed the speculation was from the great Florio. Being that it's from Florio, I can speculate that he was merely speculating using the A-D standard that I jokingly gave credit to the Jesters.

Maybe Rexy established some anti Twitter rules after the Revis babble.

WTF?

Any guy named "Clowney" ought to be promoted to Jets spokesman!
