Ian's Daily Blog - The Boston Herald reported on Monday that Patriots nose tackle Vince Wilfork has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle. Wilfork left Sunday’s game with the injury and went to the locker room with just over 4:00 left in the half, and did walk off the field under his own power. Today in the locker [...]

3-6 weeks...?
It says not expected to be long term. 3-6 weeks is long term for a sprained ankle. If the description is correct I would expect to see him very soon.

yeah, like the info we're getting is going to be dead accurate. This is the Pats;)

"Sprained ankle" doesn't say a whole lot. A mild one could mean he won't even miss any time; a "high" one could mean he's out for weeks, and then hobbled for weeks more. More details are needed.

This is one of those times you wish he'd hop on Twitter and tell us how bad he's hurt. Not that it would happen - but obviously we all wish it would

Haha, could there be an un-written "no twitter" rule within our organization? It really wouldn't surprise me .

We lose all the name recognition, but we allow fewer and fewer points. Names like Pryor, Banta-Cain, and McGowan are anything but sexy... and they may yet prove to be not that great. But for the moment, allowing a zero in the second half against a team most would classify as dangerous on offense, is quite satisfactory.

Maybe, the "names" were holding us back because they were different players now when compared to 01 through 04.

With guys as big and heavy as Wilfork I think it could be a little longer than a week or two, with all that weight on the leg I would think there will be 3-4 weeks before he comes back,Its up to Brace,Wright and Pryor to take over and play well until then.

This just in from Foxboro:

Q: Coach, could you comment on Vince Wilfork's status?
BB: He's on the roster, a member of the team like 52 other guys.

Q: No, I meant related to his injury yesterday. How's he doing?
BB: He got a little banged up in Sunday's game.

Q: Yes, we know that. But could you be more specific?
BB: He has a sore ankle...his ankle hurts.

Q: When do you expect he'll be able to play again?
BB: Well, as I said before, he's on the roster so he's eligible to play any week.

Q: But when do you think he might play again?
BB: Vince is a hard worker, a great teammate in the locker room and always works real well with the coaches, so I know he'll play just as soon as he can.

Q: (runs screaming from room)

I know but a sprained ankle would have to be bad for 3-6 weeks. Most likely it'll be 0-2.

That was actually pretty funny - nicely done

Depending on the severity of the sprain (ie structural integrity of ankle) it might only be a pain tolerance issue with Vince.

im pretty sure ive read somewhere that BB doesnt allow the guys to post on tweeter during the season....

And accurate too, unfortunately.

Your opportunity has arrived, Ron Brace; take advantage of it.

Thanks to you and the others who said nice things. Now, you know, we're just focused on a tough game this week...getting 11 guys on the field who know what they're supposed to do and can execute....

Ian, that excellent satire is grounds for bringing back reputation to the forum, now that the server problems are history and you have nothing else to do. :)
