It's so easy to hate the Phish and Jests*, but you almost have to feel sorry for these guys.

They have had potential so often and have been left unable to capitalize on it.

After that first game against a Bills team that played pretty well and last week's "beatdown" in Jersey, I was pretty excited to see a season of serious divisional scrapping, and maybe seeing the AFCE emerge as the toughest division in the NFL.

With the Dolphins falling apart fast (now having lost Paddington Chad, maybe for a long time) and the Bills losing key guys every week, it looks like it could just be the Pats and Jests* running for the end. At this rate there could be three Pats/Jests* games this year.

Cornerback Leodis McKelvin left after aggravating a fibula injury in the second quarter. He initially hurt his leg last Sunday against Tampa Bay.

Free safety Donte Whitner suffered a right thumb injury late in the fourth quarter, and was wearing a soft cast in the locker room. Strong safety Bryan Scott went down a few plays later with a sprained ankle. Left tackle Demetrius Bell also left the game in the final quarter with a groin problem.

Head coach **** Jauron did not elaborate on the injuries. He might provide an update today, but could choose to wait until Wednesday.

Injuries have been a recurring theme for the Bills this season as they have lost at least one starter in each of the first three games. Middle linebacker Paul Posluszny suffered a broken arm in the opener at New England and right tackle Brad Butler was lost for the season with a knee injury against Tampa Bay.

It's the season-ending injuries which count. You always get players dinged up in games.

Miami really got caught yesterday because they made Pat White the #2 QB routine. When Pennington went down, they had to bench White for the rest of the game too in order to use Henne (their 3rd QB) prior to the 4th quarter. I'm sure it hampered their "wildcat" playbook once White was out of the picture.

It looks like poor Chad has a the very least a seperated shoulder, combine that with the 0-3 start, and it maybe a long, long, year for the Phins.............

Where's Aqua4Evah a.k.a. Wide Receiver, a.k.a. Douchebag when we need him? I'm gonna ask Ian for a refund if he doesn't re-instate him right away! :)

My sympathies to the poor Buffalo fans.

Update: Penny is done for the year, per Mortenson.

The thinnest Team though is the JETS. For the last couple of years the Jets have sold their draft picks to move up for a one or two players. In essence they traded their draft for a single key performer. eg, Revis and the MLB, and of course Sanchez. You can do that for a year or two but the dearth of new talent will start to show in depth.

Any word on their Injuries?

Jets seemed to come out of the game healthy

The one issue I see with the jest is they are trying to hard to early in the season. This will come back and haunt them in November.

Sanchez might live up to the talent hype, but at the same time, there are few rookies who aren't gassed and slowing down before the season ends. One thing that Coach has always pushed is conditioning, and, so far, the Patriots have been able to pretty much hold up through a long season.

We'll see how Sunkist does come December.
