I don't understand this. Wasn't he known to be playing through a back injury that would explain this stuff away?

Moss's lack of effort could be poison ivy to Pats - CBSSports.com

EXCERPT:

After watching Moss against Atlanta on Sunday two things became clear. Moss is the most physically gifted receiver in the NFL but, quite possibly, he remains one of the laziest.

CBSSports.com charted every Moss play against the Falcons and on a significant number of them Moss either didn't block or generated a lackluster blocking effort. On other plays, when the ball wasn't going to him, Moss jogged some of his routes.

Moss has been criticized for these things in the past so this isn't breaking news. What is fascinating is that Moss continues to behave in this manner despite being a member of perhaps the most professional and blue collar franchise in the league.

None of the Patriots' professionalism has apparently rubbed off on Moss.

Why the Patriots put up with Moss isn't a mystery. He's a Hall of Fame talent. Yet Moss must privately irritate perfectionists like quarterback Tom Brady.

Re: Freeman: Moss is Doggin' It Again

Moss had a great game Sunday. Consider that he was on the injury report last week. Had Brady and the other skill players on the offense played as well we'd have had at least 8 more points, probably 15.

LOL, love teh highlighted text....

u show me ONE other patriot who has to run as much in one game while playing all but one snap, and ill agree

problem is, NO ONE else on this team has to run as much as RAndy....so yea, if theres a screen to the opposite side, let the guy just stand there, or walk his routes if he wants to

freeman's a pushover

Re: Freeman: Moss is Doggin' It Again

This isn't the first dumb article Freeman has written.
The man knows as much about football as a rock.

Belichick, Brady, and others on the team have repeatedly noted that Randy Moss is one of the hardest working players on the team. He shows up early, leaves late, and gets teammates to join him for film and workouts.

Belichick has called Randy Moss the smartest football player he has ever seen, and that Randy was the MVP of the offense in 2007. He has also noted that Randy, like other stars, is smart in knowing when to conserve his energy.

Freeman's article is even more bizarre, since Moss was clutch all day yesterday, the only legit receiver Brady had, and the guy making multiple huge clutch 3rd and 4th down catches. All with a bad back injury, to boot, which nearly kept him out of the game.

I cannot reiterate just how ignorant and moronic Mike Freeman and his article are.

Did they also chart him cheering for his fellow teammates while he was on the sidelines or congratulating them when they had those touchdowns. Sounds like someone trying to dig up dirt.

Re: Freeman: Moss is Doggin' It Again

Exactly. CBS here is looking for a story when there's none to be found.

Maybe they're just pissed Fox had yesterday's game. ;)

I have been a long time lurker here, I have seen some stupid articles posted before but this takes the cake.
He clearly wrote that to get a reaction and traffic to his site.
It is stupid, badly researched. Massive massive fail.

Yeah not to mention the bizzaro crap they supposedly tracked. I think we should ask him to lay out what they saw from every other player on O, since they were surely being objective...

Randy Moss was the best player on the field for either team on Sunday.

read the story which florio is creating out this :)
Freeman: Moss is dogging it, again | ProFootballTalk.com

its sad and pathetic piece of rumor mongering...

It's possible that Moss isn't deliberately taking plays off, but that he merely has retreated to his nature now that he has attention span has expired. But it's also possible that Moss wants out, and that this is his way of making it happen.

Indeed, if the Pats made it clear two years ago that they wouldn't tolerate this kind of stuff from Moss, common sense suggests that, if Moss engages in this kind of stuff, they'll send him packing.

But Belichick is no idiot; he won't be letting Moss walk away. Belichick knows that Moss has a friend in the league. A quarterback friend. And that quarterback friend is now playing for the team with which Moss initially made his mark. And that quarterback friend could be putting ideas in Randy's head regarding the possibility of finishing together the job that Moss started 11 years ago.

It's pure speculation, but it comes from our basic understanding of how things are in the NFL, and how things get done. Despite Sunday's uncanny last-second catch from a little-known player whom the Pats jettisoned before the season, Brett Favre knows he needs a field-stretching receiver in order to duplicate John Elway's ride into the sunset.

And Favre knows the perfect man for the job.

And Brett Favre openly has lobbied for Moss when Favre played for the Packers. So what better way to fulfill his repeatedly denied yet undeniable desire to stick it to Ted Thompson than by finding a way to bring Moss back to Minnesota?
WTF ,WTF ????

Ahahaha. Yeah. Moss' averages yesterday definitely show that he's wanting out.

Florio is a DB, but give him credit. He makes up the best football rumours going.

The tape does not lie. If this is true, then everybody in the positional meetings and the offensive meetings is seeing it.

This is one of the most bizarre articles in a few years.

It is so off the mark, I'm speechless.

Lazy media reporting at its finest.

Freeman and Florio are the laziest writers ever, known for dogging stories.

HAHAHAH

yea, Moss doesnt want to play here anymore.....lOL, he likes it at oakland better

watch how he tries to tie favre and moss now ...how bizzare is that ?
i know you want to generate hits but this is unbelievable.

How ridiculous is this?? The guy is only leading the league in receptions.

The haters can keep on wishing, Brady and Moss will keep on dishing. :D

You guys are way too hard on these writers. They have bosses. They have to produce something. Granted, they might be lazy in that they can't seem to do the hard work required to produce a real story, but they still have to show some product, or else they lose their jobs.

The bosses don't care how inaccurate their writers are. They only make money when the article is seen, talked about, linked to.

Just more long distance static from a NJ/NY reporter. Moss is far removed from the disillusioned player that he was in Oakland and Minnesota.
But, that did leave him open to forever being reminded of those days, by reporters looking for something to write.

He obviously hasn't been clued in to the fact that Moss is Brady's best friend on the team, and probably the best QB/WR combo in football.

But, why let facts get in the way of dishing some dirt.
