Keep telling yourself this. 14 of the KC points were from freaky plays...otherwise it was a 38-10 game, with still a dominating performance by their D. The SD game showed some weakness in the secondary, but Phillip Rivers had to play out of his mind just to "almost win" in their house. That was not a small accomplishment to fly clear across the country and come out with a gutsy win.

They are now a very balanced, powerful, and dangerous team both sides of the ball.

But as it always is, Any Given Sunday...we shall see.

Hint: opposition posters (and since your first post comes in defense of the Ravens in, by coincidence, the week we're playing them, I kind of think you might be one) who get respect here tend to identify themselves as such, demonstrate real knowledge of the game and don't start their first post with sarcasm. this board has a long history of welcoming intelligent and polite posts from opponents' fans and of ignoring most others. it's up to you where you fall.

The "sub-par" Derrick Mason can play for my team,anyday...........BB says so,too.

You mean the Mason they tried to sign in '04? or was it '05 or '06?

How many Pro Bowls (if any) has he been named to?

One serviceable receiver does not change my assessment that "the receiving corps" is sub-par.

Any Given Sunday is a phrase you should not apply to the Patriots.

Just a fun fact for all, this is the 4th straight week the Patriots are playing an undefeated foe. Now that is obviously counting Buffalo at 0-0 which is slightly ludicrous, but it's more to emphasize the difficulty in gameplanning for a team without having seen game film of your opponent that shows vulnerability which does include Buffalo.

Before we get too excited about this Week 3 win, let's not forget that Week 4 starts now. And just as quickly as we wanted to put the Jets debacle behind us, Sunday very well could be deja vu. Instead of Sanchez, there's Flacco. Instead of Jones and Washington, there's Rice and McGahee. But otherwise, we're talking about two fairly similar teams here. And oh yeah: Ed Reed.

At least this one's at home.

The Ravens are no doubt a better version of the Jets - but I'm feeling confident after yesterday's win. All the offense has to do is start converting some of these red zone trips. They've moved the ball at will pretty much all season save for the 2nd half of the Jets game.

I wonder if we'll see more of the 2 TE sets we saw yesterday - I hope so, I like it. Especially with Wes injured.

Hopefully, it'll be the second straight week we send an undefeated foe to it's first loss. This is actually fun because now the team no longer has the pressure to go undefeated. :)

I joined the board just to reply to this post, but I'll honestly try to be as objective as possible.

The Jets are basically a cheap version of the Ravens as we out-class them at nearly every single position. If you downgraded Baltimore position-by-position because of youth/inexperience/less talent, then you'd have New York. That sounds arrogant, but I think it's completely true.

their defense for any sake is very similar to the jets, except Balt corners are weaker, and safeties stronger, and for jets are vice verca
The Jets use the Ravens schemes, but have inferior players are every position minus CBs.
now their offense....similar to jets, except rb's not as quick, and wr's better,
TE not as good, O-line not as good
I don't think a single person who actually know the first thing about either team would say that the Jets have a better O-line or RBs. . .

Our wide receivers are probably better, but only marginally, and otherwise we're better than the Jets at every position on offense other than TE. I could certainly make an argument for Heap putting up better numbers than Keller this year, but I'll give you Dustin over Todd.

and its at home, and its first time flacco sees a BB defense (with a 3-9 track record, or something like it)

Every single week last week, we had to hear about how it would be Flacco's first game, or his first road game, or his first game against a divisional opponent, or his first game in the playoffs, or his first AFC Championship Game.

Can we just establish that Joe is able to adjust pretty well?

I'd say that the Jets and Ravens have about the same O-Line in terms of quality starters. Their RBs are better than your guys' though. And I say this as someone that despises the Jets. They have a physical guy that can pound the football in Jones and a home run threat in Leon Washington who can also run between the tackles. The WR position is a wash. You can flip a coin on that one.

This will not be an easy game which is why it was so crucial to not only play well yesterdat, but to win. That said, the Jets debacle could prove to be somewhat of a "good" thing because you know the offense, Brady in particular, want redemption and the Ravens running much the same defense as the Jets are a good place to start.

Unlike the Jets game, I expect a much more balanced attack. I think we see a game plan much like yesterdays of a consistent running game and long sustained drives, if possible, to keep our defense fresh and limit their chances. A more accurate offense and we're 3-0, and yesterday we would have won like 38-10, we're almost there, and hopefully make more strides against a team who if we are to do what we all hope to do this year, we'll probably see again in January.

Hi,

It will be a painful week for me as i love both these teams. And i don't want either one to loose.

Back in 2007 these two teams produced a great game. Hopefully we will get another such game.

At least this game will be nationally aired..I live in DC area and it's a pain to not to get Ravens/Pats game every week..

I hope not. That game nearly gave me heart failure.

I can almost guarantee that the Ravens will finish ahead of the Jets in rushing yards per game.

Our running backs were third in the league last year, and have improved since then.

The Jets have a feature back in Jones with a nice complement in Washington; Baltimore's running attack could feasibly lead the league this year, and if they don't, it's because Flacco puts together a 4,000+ yard season.

Again, that was a very haughty post, but I'm sure that our running backs will be great, whereas my trust in Flacco still isn't there completely.
